Your team responsibilities
The Platform Engineering team is responsible for the development of platform and tooling to enable DevOps and Quality Engineering at MSCI. As part of the Quality Center of Excellent we own DevOps related tooling such as the MSCI software catalog and Internal Developer Portal, in addition to managing and maintaining third-party Developer workflow tools.
As a full stack developer, your responsibility will be to design, develop, test, maintain and support resilient production grade enterprise services, platforms and tools.

Your key responsibilities
Expert knowledge in all aspects of the Developer Workflow (SDLC) from requirements through to design, development, test, deployment and production support.
Proven Expertise in API design principles using REST and GraphQL required to integrate with various internal and external APIs and ensure seamless data flow.
Understanding of DevOps best practices and CI/CD
Previous experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud services such as Azure and/or GCP.
Monitor and ensure the reliability and performance of systems through the integration of telemetry.
Utilize Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage and provision infrastructure resource.
Git Source Code Management experience (must have)
Seasoned Agile/Scrum team member, understand responsibilities and behaviors required to participate effectively in bi-weekly scrum sprints.
Understanding of test-driven development, including unit, integration, system, load and mock testing frameworks. As owner of feature task delivery, you are responsible for validating and verifying your solution through testing, including coverage of edge cases and error scenarios.
Cloud knowledge and exposure is expected
Java, and Spring Expertise is Desirable
Drive, design & deliver MSCI's next generation of tooling, APIs and services to enable operational and performance insights as part of the Quality Center of Excellence
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering field is required with 8+ years full SDLC experience.
Professional Proficiency in Java, Spring, GraphQL
Previous commercial experience working with and deploying to Cloud Services including cloud Kubernetes services.
Good to Have: Any exposure to front-end / UI development like react and typescript is highly beneficial
Proven track record of leveraging enterprise integration patterns to build software solutions commercially.
Highly motivated self-starter who is looking to add business and can manage multiple tasks in a demanding and dynamic, globally distributed team environment.
Behaviours and activity aligned with principles of Proactive Problem solving and extreme ownership are a must-have for successful candidates
As an intellectually curious engineer you will be aware and understand the principles and practices that define Scrum/Agile, Defensive Coding, SOLID methodology, enterprise design patterns, TDD, 12 Factor App.
