Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled
Frontend Developer with expertise in GIS to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design and develop interactive, high-performance GIS-based applications. You will work closely with GIS analysts, backend developers, and product managers to create engaging user interfaces that offer real-time data visualization and support agricultural innovations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance GIS-based web applications using modern frontend frameworks such as React.js, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Design and implement interactive maps, dashboards, and data visualization tools to improve user engagement.
- Collaborate with backend developers to integrate APIs, GeoServer, and GIS services (e.g., Leaflet, OpenLayers, Mapbox, ArcGIS).
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design across multiple devices.
- Optimize frontend performance to efficiently manage large geospatial datasets.
- Work with GIS analysts to translate spatial data requirements into effective UI solutions.
- Conduct unit testing and debugging to ensure code quality and seamless functionality.
- Stay updated with advancements in GIS technologies and modern frontend frameworks.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in frontend development with significant exposure to GIS applications.
- Expertise in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and frameworks such as React.js, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Extensive experience with GIS libraries and tools (e.g., Leaflet, OpenLayers, Mapbox, ArcGIS, GeoServer).
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and their integration with GIS services.
- Proficiency in responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Familiarity with spatial data formats (GeoJSON, Shapefiles, KML) and coordinate systems.
- Experience using version control systems such as Git.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with backend technologies like Node.js or Python.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for deploying GIS applications.
- Familiarity with PostGIS or other spatial databases.
- Understanding of UI/UX design principles to create seamless user experiences.
