Role Description
Advanced Research and Development:
- Leading the development of innovative nutraceutical formulations.
- Conducting advanced research to identify new ingredients and technologies for nutraceutical products.
- Designing experiments and studies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of formulations.
Ingredient Expertise:
- Expertise in selecting and sourcing high-quality ingredients specific to nutraceuticals, such as vitamins, minerals, botanicals, and other bioactive compounds.
- Evaluating the bioavailability and stability of ingredients in formulations.
Complex Formulation Development:
- Developing complex formulations tailored to specific health benefits or targeted consumer groups.
- Optimizing formulations to enhance bioavailability, efficacy, and consumer acceptance.
Process Scale-Up and Optimization:
- Leading the scale-up of nutraceutical formulations from lab-scale to commercial production.
- Collaborating with manufacturing teams to optimize production processes while ensuring product quality and consistency.
Quality Assurance and Control:
- Implementing rigorous quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of product quality and safety.
- Conducting in-depth analysis and testing of formulations to validate efficacy, stability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Regulatory and Compliance Expertise:
- Ensuring formulations comply with regulatory standards specific to nutraceuticals, including labeling requirements and health claims.
- Staying updated with evolving regulations and industry standards for nutraceutical products.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Leading and mentoring formulation teams, providing guidance and expertise in nutraceutical formulation development.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including research, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.
Project Management:
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously, from concept to commercialization.
- Setting project timelines, milestones, and priorities to ensure timely and successful project completion.
Market and Consumer Insights:
- Understanding market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape in the nutraceutical industry.
- Incorporating market insights into formulation development to create products that meet consumer needs and preferences.
Qualifications
- Laboratory Skills: Experience in conducting laboratory experiments and handling equipment
- Technology Transfer: Knowledge of transferring technology and processes from R&D to production
- Research and Development (R&D): Experience in conducting R&D activities
- Formulation: Expertise in formulation development and optimization
- Research: Strong research skills and ability to analyze scientific literature
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Experience in the nutraceutical industry is a plus
- Master's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field
