Job Title:Senior Food Technologist Frozen Food (HORECA)
Job Profile:The Senior Food Technologist will be responsible for overseeing product development, quality assurance, and innovation related to frozen food products aimed at the HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, Cafes/Catering) sector. This position involves working closely with the R&D team, ensuring that the food products meet both customer expectations and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in food processing units, particularly with frozen foods.
Responsibilities:- Product Development & Innovation:
- Lead the development of new frozen food products tailored to the HORECA market.
- Innovate and improve existing products based on market research, customer feedback, and emerging trends.
- Ensure product consistency, quality, and taste through trials and experimentation.
- Quality Control & Compliance:
- Implement and monitor food safety standards (HACCP, FSSAI, FDA, etc.) in the production process.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
- Ensure that all frozen food products adhere to hygiene and safety regulations, both at the production site and at client locations.
- Food Processing & Technology:
- Oversee the operations in the food processing unit, focusing on freezing techniques, preservation, and packaging.
- Implement and optimize processing techniques to enhance product shelf-life, nutritional value, and flavor.
- Work with machinery and technology to ensure efficient production and minimal waste.
- R&D Leadership:
- Lead research and development projects aimed at improving food quality, processing efficiency, and product offerings.
- Stay updated on technological advancements in food processing, freezing methods, and product innovation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment between product development and market needs.
- Client & HORECA Market Support:
- Provide technical support and training to HORECA clients on product usage, storage, and handling.
- Understand and adapt to the unique requirements of the HORECA market, including portion control, packaging solutions, and ease of preparation.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of product development processes, including formulations, ingredient sourcing, and production methods.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on product performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage documentation for regulatory compliance and certifications.
Requirements:- Experience:
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience as a food technologist in a frozen food or food processing unit.
- Previous experience in developing products for the HORECA sector is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of frozen food technology, food preservation, and quality control processes.
- Skills:
- Expertise in food processing, freezing methods, and product shelf-life management.
- Solid understanding of food safety regulations (HACCP, ISO, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with production teams, R&D, and external partners.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related discipline.
- Additional certifications in food safety, quality control, or frozen food processing are an advantage.
