Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist. you'll be contributing towards our new greenfield project, which aims to revolutionize how customers interact with their Cumulocity IoT subscription. This initiative empowers customers by streamlining self-service for launching and expanding IoT projects, enabling transparent subscription management, enhancing business agility, and facilitating cost-conscious decisions.
Working in a cross-functional agile team to deliver and deploy a new greenfield project (a cloud-native, SaaS platform) following the complete development lifecycle from specification through to refinement, implementation, and support. Effectively communicating with peers and other leads across the organization to refine requirements and design using good architectural practices, and implementing them with high quality.
Contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems by performing proof-of-concept (POC) work and providing valuable feedback. Identifying areas of risk or potential problems and taking action to mitigate them, while also assisting less experienced staff with more complex issues. Leading and mentoring junior team members, advocating for best engineering practices

Essential Functions:

8+ years of software engineering experience, in creating complex, secure and high-performance applications.
Excellent knowledge of building microservice application using Java including the Spring framework and Spring Boot
Strong Knowledge in cloud native architecture, design patterns and best practices
Experience leading the design and development of significant software components in a cross-functional team environment.
Hands on knowledge with other key technologies used in the Cumulocity platform, including REST, OAuth, MQTT, MongoDB, containerization, Kubernetes.
Experience with test driven development & test automation frameworks.

Minimum Requirements:

Ability to take initiative, define design for betterment of products, and execute at high level of quality.
Background in Industrial IoT use cases and understanding of Cloud and Edge computing
Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux based environments.

Nice to Haves:

Experience with scripting skills (eg, shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python) and understanding/experience of building frameworks using them.

Certification in Kubernetes (eg, Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk).
Knowledge of networking concepts and microservices architecture.
