Role Summary
We are seeking to recruit an ambitious and dynamic Senior Engineer to join the UK iCRC Roads
team in Bengaluru/Noida to work alongside our UK discipline.
The successful candidate will lead, develop and deliver projects through various stages of design
from feasibility to planning/detailed design and onto construction.
Ensuring successful delivery of projects by working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment Supervise project teams in the production of feasibility studies, detail design and construction drawings, specifications and technical reports. Carrying out technical reviews and checking design work carried out by other team members Production and review of designs for projects in accordance with relevant design standards and codes Embrace digital engineering and promoting innovative engineering design solutions Acting as a mentor to other team members, potentially with line management responsibility Management of projects to programme and budget Liaison with clients and discussing technical solutions in the delivery of civil engineering to stakeholders including technical and non-technical clients both in projects and at tender stage Able to lead and contribute to winning work, through production of fees, scopes and quality answers in response to client tenders
Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for leading and production of highway engineering designs and construction drawings independently for various UK schemes using relevant standards.
- You will be active on a number of projects at any given time. You will be supported by a team of experienced and developing technical staff of various grades, to whom you will be expected to provide guidance and support as appropriate.
- You will be contributing to all types of projects.
- You will be responsible for ensuring your projects are delivered to the budget, programme and technical standards and meet QA, CDM, Sustainability and HSE requirements.
- The position will also involve internal client liaison, assisting in the preparation of fee proposals, recruitments, and financial control of projects when acting as a package manager.
- You will require to mentor, support, train and encourage the young engineers and technicians to manage their own learning in order to develop their skills and improve their performance.
Key Competencies / Skills:
Mandatory skills
- You should be able to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of and experience of UK highway design including road geometry, road restraint system, site clearance, pavement, signages, and road markings.
- You will have advanced level proficiency on the relevant design software such as Civil 3D, Open Roads, MX, PDS/Key Line and Sign, AutoCAD and ProjectWise.
- Proficient in use of standard office software
- You should be able to produce technical specifications and reports
- Experience of work package management
- Experience of resource management
- Experience of liaison with clients, co-professionals and design team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications
- You will have a bachelor's or post-graduate degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with 6+ years post-graduate experience in highway design
