Purpose of the position:
- Ensure proper operation of plant
- Ensure Field Instrumentation & Automation Systems perform safely at required reliability with minimum cost of
- Ownership through preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Minimize the impact of Field Instrumentation & Automation System failures to the business.
- Ensure compliance to internal and external regulatory requirements.
Principal responsibilities:
Production:
- Monitor and control processes using ACS/DCS system and to the best of ability to meet the onsite customer requirements and liquid requirements for the merchant market- using visual observation via field round, process data analysis and trending and other method.
- Optimization of plant using productivity tools and ensure lowest cost of production. Changing mode of plant per need of liquid or gases and ensuring no upsets.
- Conduct troubleshooting in cases of process related problem/process disturbances and necessary action whenever required
- Responsible for helping in sustaining QMS certification (ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 1800) in carrying out the required action as per standard applicable area.
- Send monthly plant MIS on all production parameters and entire consolidated plant report to plant manager& HO. Update P&ID /documents
- Support Plant Manager per his requirements.
Automation
- Manage & supervise contractors for Automation Systems related work Operations
- bypassing of any interlocks against a permit to work, monitor correct function of automation systems Taloja
- Ensure proper calibration of instruments and analytical systems Maintenance
- Ensure adequate vendor/contractor support for automation work, Define/ maintain required spares
- Implement Preventive /Predictive Maintenance activities and ensure they are carried out
- Ensure predictive maintenance equipment is operational, related services are in place and activities are carried out. Ensure compliance to local regulations and obtain necessary approvals
- Define scope of work for major turnaround, ensure availability of required material and services for automation, Initiate engineering management of change process for modifications
- Support the execution of the modifications from Alerts, LFRE and directives; Update and maintain as-built drawings.
- Troubleshooting, Investigate any automation system related trips
Key Interfaces:
- External interfaces
- Suppliers - Selection of suitable suppliers, agree on technical scope/solution, stage gate inspection to ensure quality
- Contractors - Assess technical competency, assign job as per the assessment, ensure safety and quality of work.
- Government bodies - Ensure compliance to local regulations and necessary approvals/licenses Internal interfaces
- Procurement - Make purchases for materials, assets and service.
- Platforms - Align implementation of directive, alerts & improvement initiatives. Develop / share
- Root Cause Analysis.
- Site staff - Coordinate any maintenance, troubleshooting etc.
Required qualifications/experience:
- Diploma/bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Information Technology or Process
- Automation
- Experience 4 - 6 years in a related process plant Instrument & Process Control maintenance or engineering role
- Experience of using Computerized Maintenance Management System preferably SAP PM or EAM.
