About The Role
As an Engineering Applications license expert, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing licensing agreements for engineering applications used by the organization. You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with licensing terms and conditions, identify cost-saving opportunities, and align software demand with the organization's needs and priorities. This role requires in-depth knowledge of licensing models for engineering applications and experience in software asset management, procurement, or IT contract management. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the organization's software strategy and contribute to its success by providing expert knowledge and consulting on engineering application licensing
What You Will Do
- Manage and optimize Engineering Applications licensing agreements and ensure compliance with licensing terms and conditions.
- Monitor and analyze software usage data to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize license utilization.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on Engineering Application licensing matter.
- Review, update, and optimize Engineering Applications-related data in our SAM tool.
- Support in license demand plannings, cross-charging, pooling, and contract negotiations
What You Need
- In-depth knowledge of Engineering Application licensing models, programs, and agreements (floating, concurrent, token-based licensing models for applications like Vector, Ansys, PTC, AutoCAD etc.).
- Experience in software asset management, procurement, or IT contract management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
What Is Nice To Have
- Certification in Engineering Applications licensing models and agreements.
- Experience with software asset management tools and systems.
- Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
- Familiarity with the specific requirements in engineering organizations.
- Experience in a global or multi-national organization.
What Makes You Eligible
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in software asset management, IT procurement, or IT contract management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex licensing agreements and ensure compliance with licensing terms and conditions.
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating and renewing licensing agreements with software vendors.
- Strong understanding of software licensing models, including perpetual, subscription, and usage-based licensing
