An overview of your job role
In your role as Senior Engineer - DevOps at AVIZVA, you will define, design and set up the application infrastructure for a wide range of clients. Infrastructure being an important stand point in our organisation, your major responsibility would be to provide end to end solutions to all infra requirements enabling development and quality assurance teams to pursue their activities. The role demands a tech enthusiast to independently manage automating application infrastructure setup and ensure regular maintenance and upgrade. You will be expected to share and drive adoption of global standards and industry best practices in setting up processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Expertise in Unix/Linux environment setup and management with comprehensive knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, ECS, ElasticBeanstalk, AutoScaling, S3, ElasticSearch, ElasticCache, Load Balancers, VPC, Networking, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS DevOps services, to design and implement scalable, reliable infrastructure.
- Administer and configure CI/CD tools like Jenkins, with a deep understanding of security, networking, and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI/HIPAA).
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python and Shell scripting, version control using Git, and working with Docker containers and Kubernetes.
- Set up Application Environment using Terraform in AWS and take end-to-end responsibility of provisioning and configuration with tools like Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.
- Identify and resolve issues across multiple environments, troubleshooting deployment, configuration, networking problems, and managing application and infrastructure health.
- Drive automation by establishing robust CI/CD pipelines, integrating testing frameworks, developing provisioning scripts, and implementing solutions like Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, AWS CodePipeline/CodeDeploy, leveraging Kubernetes, Docker, and Amazon EKS/ECS for microservices deployment.
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, developing infrastructure code to enhance scalability, consistency, and high availability.
- Orchestrate and manage the entire software delivery lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines, provisioning, scaling infrastructure resources, and the release process.
- Leverage tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Kubernetes for infrastructure as code and container orchestration.
- Architect Terraform modules to ensure consistency and repeatability of infrastructure as code across environments.
- Identify and communicate risks, issues, and proposed resolutions to project leads/clients, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to address dependencies and requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with 5 to 8 years of proven experience in a DevOps or Cloud Engineering role.
- Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its core services, including EC2, EKS, ECS, ElasticBeanstalk, AutoScaling, S3, ElasticSearch, ElasticCache, Load Balancers, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail, as well as networking knowledge and VPC configuration experience.
- Proficient in setting up and managing Unix/Linux environments, including the establishment and maintenance of various environments.
- Experienced in administering CI/CD tools like Jenkins, facilitating seamless automation and deployment processes.
- Proficiency in at least two scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, or PowerShell), as well as familiarity with version control systems like BitBucket and collaboration platforms like Jira/Confluence.
- Familiarity with security protocols, networking principles, and compliance standards such as PCI/HIPAA, ensuring adherence in operational practices.
