The Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L2) is a developing engineering role, responsible for providing a managed service to clients to ensure that their IT infrastructure and systems remain operational.
Through the proactive monitoring, identifying, investigating, and resolving of technical incidents and problems, the Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L2) is able to restore service to clients.
The primary objective of this role is to proactively review client requests or tickets and apply technical/process knowledge to resolve them without breaching service level agreement (SLA).
The Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L2) focuses on second-line support for incidents and requests with a medium level of complexity and focusses across two or more technology domains - Cloud, Security, Networking, Applications and / or Collaboration etc.
This role may also contribute to / support on project work as and when required.

- Implement and manage backup and recovery systems.
- Backup software (e.g., Veritas, Veeam & cloud backup )
- Disaster Recovery planning
- Windows and Linux server administration
- Storage Area Networks (SAN)
- Scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
- Monitoring and reporting tools
- IT compliance and security standards
- Monitor and maintain backup jobs to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop and document disaster recovery plans.
- Perform regular disaster recovery drills.
- Troubleshoot backup failures and resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with IT teams to optimize backup and storage solutions.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and retention policies.

- Antivirus software (e.g., MacAfee & TrendMicro )
- Keeping up with the constantly evolving landscape of cybersecurity threats.
- Dealing with false positives and false negatives in antivirus scans.
- Managing antivirus software compatibility issues with other applications.
- Balancing system performance with the need for robust security measures.
- Implementing and maintaining a strong antivirus infrastructure to protect against malware and other threats.
- Collaborating with other IT professionals to ensure a holistic approach to cybersecurity.
- Staying updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies to implement best practices.
- Cloud knowledge e.g. Aws, azure & VMware
- Endpoint USB Whitelist and encryption administration
Required
Server administrator for backups and antivirus software.
Basic familiarity with cloud computing( Aws & azure) VMware, windows, Linux
