About The Position
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:
- Be part of Battery Energy Storage Enclosure System product design team.
- closely work with Product development team - Design engineers from electrical and non-electrical technology domain, Program managers, product manager, Requisition team and other stakeholders.
- Collaborative work with global stake holders, Cross functional teams and delivering key results.
- be part of new product development and product stabilization activities.
- Lead BESS Enclosure Electrical System design- Power system architecture design, Electrical design calculation, Electrical protection coordination, Electrical equipment (Circuit breaker, UPS, Fuse, Disconnector etc.) selections.
- Perform cable selection and cable scheduling for Battery Energy storage system.
- Perform Electrical Power System simulation in MATLAB, ETAP.
- Support in BESS plant electrical core design.
- Work closely with control and I&C Engineer.
- Support in system level power quality (harmonics) analysis.
- Perform and Guide Electrical schematic development.
- Support in developing component and system level qualifications test plan.
- Work closely with procurement and 3rd party contract manufacturers.
- Support in technical documentations.
What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence
- Master's or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in the design of electrical systems.
- 1+ years of experience in the design and/or construction of grid-tied BESS energy storage systems, large-scale renewable systems, large commercial PV systems.
- Experience in Electrical power system design including design calculations considering power flow, short circuit requirements and standard compliance needs.
- Experience electrical component selection like- Circuit breaker, UPS, Fuse, Disconnector, SMPS, Sensors etc.
- Experience in cable selection, scheduling and cable harness etc.
- Experience performing power system studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protection coordination using ETAP, Matlab.
- Strong understanding of the NEC and relevant IEEE standards
- Strong understanding of IEC, UL certification needed for BESS system
- Good understanding on protection system co-ordination design.
- Experience with a technical programming language such as Python or Matlab
- Experience of managing Bill of Materials.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience & ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrate effectiveness working with remote teams
