Team Responsibilities:
- Ownership: The team is responsible for maintaining and supporting two critical hub spoke data platforms (Osiris and Imhotep / IQL) that have been around for 10 years. These systems involve distributed coding and are highly technical, playing a vital role in the business's daily operations.
- Improving Infrastructure: The team is focused on enhancing the reliability, maintainability, and overall supportability of these platforms. This includes implementing infrastructure changes, improving tooling, and focusing on the systems reliability.
- Reporting & Resiliency: An emphasis is placed on reporting and making the systems more resilient, with a focus on ensuring that the platforms are stable and can handle the required load.
Scope of Work for Resources:
- Reliability and Maintainability: The team will work on improving the reliability and maintainability of the data platforms.
- Infrastructure Support: Focus on improving the infrastructure needed to support ongoing projects.
- Tooling and Reporting: Enhancing tooling to better support operations and reporting within the organization.
- Infrastructure Changes: Implementing necessary changes to the underlying infrastructure.
- Resiliency: Prioritizing improvements in the platforms resiliency, ensuring long-term stability and performance.
Deliverables: No specific work items have been identified yet, but the team is in the process of putting together a backlog focused on improving reliability and resiliency. This suggests that the team is in the early stages of planning and project definition. We will have info prior to SOW execution
Required Skills:
AWS Expertise: Must have experience with AWS (a priority skill).
Java, Services, Build Systems: Proficiency in Java, experience with services, and build systems are crucial.
Gitlab/Github: Familiarity with Gitlab or Github is essential for version control and collaboration.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Distributed Systems: Experience with distributed systems is a plus.
C/C++/Rust: Knowledge of C, C++, or Rust programming languages would be beneficial
