A Bangalore-based private foundation focused on women's empowerment and education, nature-inspired innovation, and conservation.
This role will play a crucial part in delivering support across a no. of projects. You will also influence the foundation's fundraising strategy and take an active role in annual planning and developing fruitful partnerships. This role has direct responsibility for securing funds to support the foundation's objectives and mission.

About this role in relation to the current project:
This role will be fundamental in their live project which is now in its 2nd year. This role will help them scale the program by securing partnerships with corporations, individuals, NGOs, and local universities.
About the project:
The program supports young women (18-22yrs) who graduate from care homes with fellowships to access quality higher education, safe housing, and mentorship while transitioning into adulthood and becoming financially independent.
Duties And Responsibilities
Fundraising
- Develop and manage a fundraising strategy to expand major gift support from donors, corporations, grant bodies, NGOs, and universities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with significant donors, prospects, and partners, and manage a personal portfolio.
- Make face-to-face requests for one-time and multi-year gifts, and support colleagues with proposal materials.
- Cultivate community support for the project, encouraging contributions from small donations to major gifts.
Prospect research and management
- Oversee a portfolio of organizational prospects and collaborate with the Head of Development and Prospect Researcher to identify strong prospect proposals.
- Set up a prospect management system, utilizing it as a tool for driving F2F fundraising activities and individual portfolio performance.
- Design and execute solicitation plans for new prospects and donors, ensuring they are strategically cultivated to maximize their potential contribution.
Reporting
- To work with Finance Office colleagues to ensure that all major donations are set up, processed, and recorded efficiently, and are tax efficient in line with donor preferences.
- Plan and agree on annual financial and activity targets.
Events
- Create and support annual program of events and activities designed to cultivate new supporters and provide stewardship and engagement for current/new supporters
- Program and deliver a range of events to support alumni relations activity
Communications
- Working with the Founder and Director and the team, take strategic lead for all fundraising communications in print, online, and via email, in order to build affinity and encourage philanthropic support
- Ensure positioning and consistency of all fundraising messaging maintain oversight of the fundraising pages on social media and website and help draft and deliver new content as and when needed
Operations and Organisation
- Line manage the Fellows Liaison and Administrator, developing their skills to support the administration of the project.
- Ensure all donations are handled tax effectively and work with colleagues in Finance to provide reports and data.
- Ensure the highest standard of data capture in line with GDPR and other privacy laws and work with the Founder and Director to make the best use of the annual budget
- Work with the Founder and Director to advance wider fundraising objectives and undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required in the post
- Grow and manage a personal portfolio of prospects, using systematic processes and solicitation plans for the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of donors and prospects.
- Produce well-crafted and persuasive written proposals.
- Devise and deliver fundraising vehicles that support the strategy to increase income
- Devise and deliver strategy for Corporates, Universities, and Non-Governmental Grant giving organizations, raising awareness of the project amongst the community and identifying new income streams
- Represent the organization embodying the highest professional standards
Essential
- 8-10 years of relevant experience.
- A passionate advocate for women's empowerment and education and their ability to transform lives.
- Identify opportunities, devise initiatives, and see them through to completion.
- Experience in personally securing funding from individuals.
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to network effectively and employ discretion when dealing with supporters and stakeholders.
- The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, both in person and in writing, tailoring delivery to suit the audience.
- The ability to think laterally, see multiple relationships, and identify links.
- Resilient and able to work calmly under pressure in a target-driven environment.
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Positive can-do attitude with the ability to run the project and make things happen.
- High emotional acumen.
