ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The position is responsible for development on our ServiceNow environment. This includes not just the implementation itself, but also designing technical solutions, writing of technical user stories, test & review activities, and creation of technical documentation. As a developer in our team, you will not just work with our internal Analysts, but occasionally also in direct contact with business stakeholders and end-users. Therefore, great communication skills are a must-have. Further, an excellent foundation in computer science, a wide range of experience in every aspect of ServiceNow software development, and comprehensive experience with API interfaces are needed. Our usage of ServiceNow goes way beyond out of the box capabilities, so a creative and solution-oriented mindset is required, paired with an expert-level technical skillset. As we use multiple modules of ServiceNow, experience in ITSM, CSM and FSM is required. Experience in HRSD is considered an asset.
Primary Responsibilities / Key Result Areas
- Translate functional requirements into development stories, with technical documentation and effort estimations, based on provided business requirements
- Develop high quality solutions on the ServiceNow platforms, considering ITIL and ServiceNow best practices
- Design, implement and support the testing of integrations between ServiceNow and other applications
- Create, test and plan for implemented solutions as required
- Execute code-reviews of fellow developers
- Build close partnerships with our Platform Architect, IT End to End Solution Architecture, Analysts, and Product Owners
- Join weekly calls with Product Owners as the ServiceNow technical expert
- Maintain assigned user stories as per the teams delivery process
- Ensure timely completion of tasks and provide effective (Project) Management status updates
- Coordinate escalations to ServiceNow support via ServiceNow HI self-service portal
- Monitor the health and security status of our instances, and take necessary preventive actions
- Support and train junior developers, sharing best practices to enable cohesiveness
- Evaluate ServiceNow application against new trends and developments
- Support all our ServiceNow platforms with architecture and developer activities, as well as other tasks

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent, coupled with professional vocational training and qualifications
- 5+ years of proven working experience in a similar position, executing SNOW platform development
- Proven work experience with ServiceNow ITSM, CSM and FSM modules. HRSD experience is considered as an asset.
- Thorough understanding of how API interfaces work (incl. how to secure them), and ability to implement custom interfaces on the ServiceNow platform
- Solid understanding of the application development lifecycle process, including requirement analysis, quality assurance, design, scheduling, implementation, issue tracking, version control, deployment
- Basic knowledge of the agile development methodology and ITSM processes
- Fluency in English, any other language is considered as an asset
Other Key Requirements / Comments
- ServiceNow Administrator and Developer Certifications are considered as an advantage (ServiceNow certifications regarding HRSD, ITSM, FSM or CSM; ITIL v3 or ITIL v4 foundation certification; etc.)
