JOB PURPOSE
Design the products - Dampers, Shock Absorbers, and Seating system assemblies.
- Support the other departments in design-related technical matters.
- Administration of Design and Prototype team.
- Support the manufacturing team in stabilizing the product in mass production.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Study of customer inputs, and conduct product design feasibility.
Work with design engineers on necessary design calculations, and past data analysis, and work with suppliers and manufacturing team to decide on design concept.
Conduct benchmarking Check and release 3D and 2D prepared by design engineers - costing, prototyping, development, and production stages.
Conduct design reviews at appropriate stages, DFMEA, DFA, DFM, Study and define product validation - DVP.
Working out VAVE.
Running and tracking Engineering Change as per defined process. Administer the prototype team for day-to-day work, short-term and long term activities, manpower and other resources.
Technical documentation for TS system, IMDS, Duroshox manual and other relevant - get those from engineers and cross check for accuracy. Administration of the design team.
Periodic preparation of performance data for management reports.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Good knowledge of components, sub-assemblies and assemblies.
Good at the basics of mechanical engineering.
Should know basic manufacturing processes.
Good at product design, mechanical engineering calculations, DVP, DFMEA, DFA, DFM. Good and liner tolerancing and GD&T.
Good at 3D software including 2D drafting.
Good administrative skills, handling situations with peers.
KRA
Deliver the target of revenue from new products. Delivery first time right and on-time : Design output and Prototypes. No engineering changes due to design at the production trial run stage.
Design verification output (results of prototype) to confirm product requirement - first time right.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
B.E. (Mech / Automobiles), 11 to 15 years relevant experience. Damper/Shock Absorber background
