Overview: We are seeking an experienced Database Architect with a strong background in Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems management.
NOTE: The ideal candidate will have expertise in PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Performance Tuning in Oracle DB, an expert with Automation and DSRE Skills. - Must Have Skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, maintain, and optimize Oracle and SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and performance.
- Conduct comprehensive performance tuning, including SQL optimization, indexing strategies, and system diagnostics.
- Implement and maintain automated solutions for database administration tasks and performance monitoring.
- Utilize DSRE (Distributed Systems Reliability Engineering) skills to enhance database reliability and ensure scalability and fault tolerance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to streamline database operations and integrate automation tools effectively.
- Provide insights and guidance on database architecture and best practices.
Required Skills:
- Database Expertise: In-depth knowledge and extensive hands-on experience with Oracle and SQL Server database management.
- Performance Tuning: Strong expertise in diagnosing and optimizing database performance, including query optimization, server configuration, and storage management.
- Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for database task automation and familiarity with relevant tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- DSRE Skills: Proven experience in applying Distributed Systems Reliability Engineering practices to ensure database stability and resilience.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to identify, troubleshoot, and solve complex database and system issues efficiently.
- Collaboration: Excellent teamwork and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating database management within DevOps practices.
- Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, etc.
- Oracle ACErecognition. Oracle & SQL-Server Certified Expert.
- Experience with monitoring and performance tools like AWR, SQL Profiler, etc.
Education:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
