JD - Sr. Database Administrator - SQL As Senior Database Administrator, independently supports the global design, implementation, and maintenance of high availability infrastructure for large scale database platforms to ensure reliability of business-critical applications. Provides guidance and expertise to management and users on topics surrounding strategy and best practices. Responsibilities
Designs, develops, maintains, and supports technical infrastructure and system software components
Conducts analysis of business problems and lead the evaluation, development, and recommendation of specific technology products and platforms to provide cost-effective solutions that meet business and technology requirements
Implements best fit infrastructure. Leads configuration, debugging, and support for infrastructure and ensure all quality and change control standards are met
Conducts root cause investigations and provide recommendations for preventative measures. Proactively address gaps with existing support processes, documentation, etc. and prioritize accordingly
Develops and documents processes, procedures, and best practices
Provides regular status, operational, incident, and change reports
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements Education and Experience
Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting database hosting systems and services utilizing high availability, performance, and reliability
Strong ability to automate and maintain automation for core job functions
Strong skills in database platform administration tasks including installation, patching, clustering, log-shipping, and tuning
Strong understanding of scripting fundamentals such as Shell, SQL, PL/SQL, PowerShell
Strong skill in at least one enterprise operating system
Strong knowledge of application/data security best practices
Strong oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge
Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.
Strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables

Skills and Knowledge
Strong knowledge of database and hosting architectures (Oracle, and mongoDB)
Strong knowledge of scripting languages (Shell scripting, Python, Power BI, PL/SQL, Perl)
Strong knowledge of CI / CD platform management (Nexus, Vault)
Strong knowledge of Security certifications, DNS management
Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience
Preferred
7+ years of experience in programming, systems analysis, or relevant concepts
Cloud platform management (Azure, GCP)
Experience leading or relevant understanding of Agile concepts and ceremonies
