About This Job
NielsenIQ Advanced Analytics team develops and promotes a portfolio of global products. Leveraging NielsenIQ's unparalleled data and global platforms, the Advanced Analytics team creates solutions to enable our clients to make better business decisions every day. We partner with Product Owners and Core Technology Teams to build scalable, always on, analytic products using relevant statistical modeling and AI/ML techniques.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a passionate and talented Senior Data Scientist to join our growing team. In this role, you will have the chance to roll up your sleeves and apply data science methods and analytics to sustain NielsenIQ Analytics growth. Successful candidates are intellectually curious builders and active learners who are biased toward action and new problem solving.
- Understand business issues, stakeholder requirement and expectations
- Perform relevant modeling analysis, explore multiple techniques, and develop proof-of-concepts
- Document and present findings and recommendations on methodology in a structured way to various stakeholder or partnering teams (Engineering, Tech, Product leader).
- Work closely with the Engineering and Tech team to convert those POC into fully scalable products.
- Ensure Model quality within acceptable parameters
- Active and effective collaboration with other project team members (other Data Scientist, Data Steward, Technology Engineer)
- Collaboratively manage projects from timeline creation to project completion, managing expectations with leaders and colleagues
- Encourage team building, best practices sharing especially with more junior team members.
- Keeping abreast of developments in the domain & developing familiarity with emerging modelling and data engineering methodologies
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience as a Data Scientist in the business
- PhD/Masters degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field
- Expertise developing advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms and computational algorithms and implementing them at scale in production systems.
- Experience with Optimization techniques such as: linear programming, integer programming, genetic algorithms, constrained optimization is a plus
- Experience in working on distributed or cloud computing platforms such as Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure
- Proficiency in Data Science coding languages like Python, PySpark and SQL in a cloud-based environment like DataBricks
- Experience using collaborative development tools (git).
- Experience working with Agile methodologies (SCRUM)
- Strong problem solving and excellent communication skills, independent working style
- Experience working with Retailer transaction level data or working in an FMCG company with exposure to Pricing, Promotion and Assortment Analytics is a strong plus
