As the team lead for the Upstream Data Management team, you will ensure updates of data into our databases and efficient delivery of Exploration and Supply Chain products. This will require focus on data quality, and domain expertise. A major part of this role is to foster close and productive working relationships across the Upstream segment, including other Data and Research teams to ensure you have an acute awareness of their data needs.
In this leadership role, you will recruit, develop, and retain the right people that will contribute to delivering the data into our Lens roadmap and products to ensure the commercial success of our business. A key deliverable will be to work across multiple teams to identify the skills to deliver our new and existing datasets. You will be an effective coach across the Upstream data team, establishing a collaborative and high-performance culture
.
Main Responsibilities
- Leads, evaluates, motivates, and develops a team of data professionals to support the delivery of the Lens roadmap and wider Upstream products
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture which is creative, open, supportive and dynamic with continuous improvement mind-set
- Establish, report and hold teams to account on key performance metrics that ensures data quality, processes and workflows are measured
- Lead a team that is accountable for delivering data quality improvement efforts in tandem with other Data and Research teams. Ensure a high level of continuous knowledge and interaction is established with these groups
- Evolve relationships with Research teams to ensure that there is an effective way of working, appropriate level of interaction and knowledge
- Identify and progress opportunities for new data sources to be ingested into the Data Platform based on current and future business needs and work with the appropriate team to deliver these
- In collaboration with Research and other Upstream Data teams, identify and priorities workflows or processes that can effectively be managed by the Data Process team
- Is an effective coach within area of specialism, supporting an open culture of knowledge sharing, collaboration and idea generation
- Develops the group of data professional across the data management team and wider Upstream segment to generate a pipeline of data talent
Qualifications
- You will be experienced in leading and inspiring a team of data professionals
- You will have experience in dealing with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to understand their data needs
- You will be an excellent communicator with an ability to speak and influence across different teams and levels of leadership
- You will have a strong interest in the natural energies industry with a commercial mindset
