Our team of more than 350 members at the GCC enables us to expand internal capabilities in the areas such as data analytics, merchandising and eCommerce, quality engineering, and automation to generate insights for faster decision-making and help us accelerate our business strategy. Our team in India plays a pivotal role in helping the company transition to new ways of working by redefining the food and grocery shopping experience for over 4.6 million customers.

Job Summary:

The role requires understanding and translating business needs into data models, creating robust data pipelines, and developing and maintaining data lakes.It also involves implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for data solutions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in big data tools preferably on Azure Stack like ADF, Databricks, Synapse Analytics and Spark, programming languages such as Scala, Python, SQL, and have strong analytical skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets.

This role is for Data Engineering team that works on data needs for the whole enterprise. The group focuses on collection, organisation, governance, and access management of data to support productivity, efficiency, and decision-making for the business.

Responsibilities:

• Develop data pipelines/data frameworks using industry best practices. Make adjustments to adapt to new methodologies that provide the business with increased flexibility and agility.
• Build data system and data quality monitoring process and ensure health of the big data system.
• Review KPIs, Monitoring and Alarms for successful production system.
• Work with the stakeholders to understand the business & reporting needs Propose, design and develop creative data solutions that provides required insight, improve/automate processes and adds value.
• Influence and educate the team with your experience, idea and learning.
• Stay current with the latest development tools, technology ideas, patterns and methodologies; share knowledge by clearly articulating results and ideas to key stakeholders.
• Publish and update technical architecture and user/process documentation.
• Provide technical direction, design leadership and expertise to the team.

Experience and Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5+ to 8 years of Experience in building Data Engineering, data modelling, Data Warehousing and ETL pipelines
• Experience in developing frameworks for data ingestions, curations and consumptions patterns.
• Good proficiency in SQL, Spark (Scala/Python), Scripting (Shell/Python), CI/CD, Git
• Has worked on data stack on Azure, like ADLS, ADF, Synpase Analytics, Databricks, Azure DevOps, or an equivalent stack
• Knowledge of distributed database, SQL/NoSQL, Semantic layers, data catalog, is an added advantage
• Exposure to visualization tools for data reporting such as Tableau, PowerBI, Looker etc.
• Strong analytical, data profiling, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teams.
