- We are looking for a Data Analyst with SQL and Python skills to join our small and dynamic team. You will be closely involved with data related activities across the department, involving regularly running process, development work, troubleshooting issues, running and optimising processes, working on data quality, delivery, and enhancements. While your primary focus will be on regular deliverables, there will projects to focus on such as for automation, new processes, and delivery across the business units. There will also be opportunities to work on developing dashboards for stakeholders, leveraging your financial knowledge to create output that can drive decision-making
- Develop SQL queries (as procs, views, and more) to perform data operations and ETL tasks
- Good understanding of database architecture such as tables, views, keys, indices, constraints etc.
- Design and develop Python scripts for automation, data processing, and workflows
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and processes, and resolve data issues and errors
- Optimise data performance, scalability, and reliability
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across different sources and platforms
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver solutions
- Write code to a high standard in order to create production worthy code
Knowledge & Skills:
- Confidence & excellent communication
- Good understanding of data, processing, quality, and flows
- Good IT background, including DevOps, CI/CD, Git, and other tools
- Communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate data solutions and issues
- Organised and diligent mindset, with attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
Experience:
Mandatory
- Minimum 3 years of experience in writing SQL code, preferably using SQL Server and T-SQL
- Minimum 2 years of experience in writing Python code (pandas, pyodbc, and other libraries)
- Prior data related experience
- Working UK hours (8. 30am - 5. 30pm)
Preferred but not mandatory(below)
- Finance knowledge, especially in fixed income, and IMC certification
- Azure domain knowledge and experience such as Azure Data Factory
- Experience with Databricks and VBA
- Jira and Confluence
- PowerApps and PowerAutomate
Educational Qualification:
- Graduate in any discipline.
