YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVEDn

As a Regulatory Ecotoxicologist, you will be a key member of the Chemical Regulatory Compliance team, delivering expert advice for REACH and other chemical regulatory regimes. Your key areas of responsibility will be:

    n
  • Delivering a range of technical work, both individually and as part of project teams, in relation to chemical regulations, particularly REACH.
  • n
  • Study monitoring and project managing ecotoxicology study packages with third party CROs.
  • n
  • Maintaining a high level of technical and regulatory understanding, and keeping up to date with latest developments to provide an excellent level of service to clients, through CPD, self-led learning and training courses.

  • Helping to develop and grow the ecotoxicology offering to both internal and external clients.

nYOUR TEAM

nThe Chemical Regulatory Compliance team is made up of professional scientists and experts on chemical and related regulations. WSPs team is predominantly UK based and works with other WSP groups around the world to deliver projects in other countries.n

Most projects are based around securing chemical registrations for WSPs clients in the UK, EU, or internationally. Projects are primarily desk based; however travel may be required for some projects to support client meetings, negotiations, or site audits.

nWSPs clients are truly international and span the breadth of the chemical and technology industries. The team currently works for healthcare companies, specialty chemical manufacturers, cosmetics manufacturers, and machine and automotive manufacturers. This diversity in client base often requires diversity in delivery solutions, whether that be by achieving compliance through supply chain management, or the use of alternative testing methods, such as NAMs and QSAR, to meet the requirements of the REACH regulation.

nThis role will report to the Chemical Regulatory Compliance Technical Director.

nThis is an ideal role for an experienced professional, who is technically and commercially minded, to develop their professional career towards a senior leadership position.n

The Chemical Regulatory Compliance team has grown significantly over the past 12 months and continues to do so as chemical regulations continue to develop, in particular UK REACH and EU REACH 2.0. The is an exciting opportunity be part of a growing team delivering high quality projects to a variety of clients.


nWED LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE

    n
  • Experience in regulatory ecotoxicology.
  • n
  • Applied knowledge of UK and EU chemical regulations, in particular REACH, CLP and BPR.n
  • Awareness of the latest developments in ecotoxicology and ecological risk assessment.n
  • Experience as a study monitor for all REACH Annex testing packages. Additional experience in the use of read-across, QSAR or NAMs would be desirable.n
  • Experience in the evaluation and summarisation of ecotoxicology data, and environmental risk assessments for the compilation of regulatory submissions.
  • n
  • Experience of communication and liaison with EU regulatory bodies (Member States, EFSA, ECHA etc.)
  • n
  • Significant experience in a professional business environment (this could be governmental, industry, or consultancy) as part of a team working in chemical regulation.n
  • Strong commercial understanding and client relationship / management skills.n
  • Communication skills commensurate with interacting with different levels within client organisations (technical, management, etc.) either directly as part of technical project delivery or at conferences, webinars and other events.
  • n
  • Competence in standard software packages, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, plus those specific to chemical regulations (IUCLID, CHESAR, QSAR.)
