Highlights of department

The Markets & Securities Services (MSS) Non-Financial Risk (NFR) team is a global function that sits within the Markets & Securities Services area within Global Banking & Markets. The NFR team helps manage and control non-financial risks in the business, including but not limited to information control, conduct and product lifecycle risk.

The Information Handling function within the NFR also has oversight of and manages the framework by which the business handles non-public information. An overarching purpose is to protect organisation, its People, Clients and Financial Markets by helping to safeguard the delivery of fair outcomes to our customers and avoiding disruption of the orderly and transparent operation of Financial Markets.

This role is: Non-Financial Risk Analyst. A high-level overview of the role:

This role will work within the Risk Specialist Information Handling pillar assisting the specialised area offering analytical support across the MSS Business.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the management and monitoring of the global Core Leave control
  • Manage and continually assess the effectiveness of key Information Control processes / controls, including but not limited to:

Information Wall Crossing; NDA Information sharing; Trade Floor Physical Segregation and Access

  • Assist with secretariat duties for the Global MSS NFR executive committee meeting and the MSS Information Risk Management Meeting that serve as the governance bodies providing global oversight of the MSS non-financial risks and controls. Duties include helping to manage the agenda and pack production
  • Process improvement and management of ad hoc projects
  • Maintain issues log, track and drive progress of timely resolution
  • Active team participation to develop an drive continual improvement via solution development, providing SME suggestions & recommendations

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Responsible for ensuring seamless communication and teamwork between colleagues in onshore locations and counterpart resources in Bangalore
  • Build strong relationships with counterpart resources in onshore locations

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Ensure that all predefined deadlines are met
  • Ensure that MI continues to support and assist the requirements of the wider stakeholder community
  • Contribute to regular reviews of existing processes and service levels with the MSS NFR team and implement updates as to regulatory requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) in English
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in an analytical data or Markets controls role
  • Knowledge of Financial Markets required
  • Proficient in MS Office (incl. Excel to macro level advantageous & PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience of working effectively and independently in a small team and also collaborate with global colleagues and stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight time-lines. Excellent time management and prioritisation of work tasks
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and proven rapid learning capability
  • Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning
  • Ability to clearly articulate implications of analysis and findings
  • Ability to act proactively and multitask without supervision
  • Candidate should be highly motivated, have a curious mindset and a desire to learn.
  • Candidate should be independent and able to present analysis with clear findings / rationale
