Primary Objectives
In this role you will provide experience and hands on development of features and tools used by the Cloud Storage Engineering team. Additionally, you will work in partnership with our Storage Architect to deliver Cloud Storage services and standards to Thomson Reuters product teams. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate technical aptitude, desire and interest in learning new technologies. The Cloud Storage team is primarily focused on Cloud Storage technology in AWS, Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
About the role:
As part of the teams responsibilities, you will be working on Proof of Concept on Cloud Storage Features, producing standards for usage, costings as well as developing and publishing templates for IaC (Infrastructure as Code) deployments. Large parts of this role will be engaged in Engineering tasks of testing, developing and documenting on exciting and new Cloud Storage features, abilities and standards.
About you:
(typically 3-4 years):
Demonstrable experience and knowledge in Storage (can be on Premises)e.g. working on deployment, administration and support serving Storage to both Windows and Linux based Servers
AWS Storage experience in at least one of S3, EFS, EBS or FSxN
AWS Services experience/knowledgein EC2, VPC's, IAM
Experience/knowledge in IaC (Infrastructure as Code) deployments i.e. CloudFormation/Terraform
Scripting, preferably in Python, to an intermediate level
What skills are desirable from you:
Experience in Backup technologies
Experience in Storage data replication techniques e.g. snapmirror, doubletake, goldengate
Exposure to Storage data migrations
Experience in NetApp ONTAP CLI and/or RestAPI
Familiarity with DevOps skills
Familiarity with GitHub
Experience in CI/CD Environments
