Role Summary
WSP is currently seeking a Sr. CAD Technician Civil/Earthwork for Australia Mining Projects (Mining Railway projects). They shall be responsible for creating and editing drawings / Models in compliance with WSP. The position is for BANGLORE location. A Team player and willing to work collaboratively with a motivated and highly successful team in Australia.
Responsibilities
- This role is for a CAD Technician Civil/Earthwork on mining railway projects.
- Responsible for preparation of drawings and 3D Models
- Prepare civil drawings and models that involve civil earthworks for roads, railways, and mining infrastructure for new and brownfield mines.
- Knowledge and experience of CAD tools 2D and 3D, Navisworks, Autodesk products.
- Must complete a high-quality self-check of own work with efficiency. Shall follow internal QC processes.
- Perform review of engineering drawings, as per markups made by the Checkers. Verify to ensure drawing modifications are accurately and correctly carried out.
- Reporting progress of work assignment to immediate supervisor. Understands the project schedule and budget requirements.
- Communicate with internal peers and project team and required to answer questions regarding deliverables.
- Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects with the ability to accurately predict the time required to fulfil the individual scopes of work required.
- Coordinating with Australian lead offices as per project requirement.
- Able to perform Material Take-Offs with CAD tool, 3D modelling software and excel.
- Actively participate in the design and provide input to the design team throughout the design process.
- Ensuring that quality procedures are implemented and maintained.
- Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to Lead Designer.
- Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.
- Develop expertise and stay up to date of developments in Drafting skills.
- Support the company's approach to sustainability.
- Able to communicate in a multi-disciplinary project team.
- Willing to learn and be polyvalent.
- Identify improvements (where possible) to enhance WSP service to clients. Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline.

- Maintain strong colleague relationships and contribute to the teams performance of client satisfaction.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing in internal and external forums.
- Remain up to date with market and competitor knowledge.

We anticipate you will have an interest in the following areas:
- To contribute to growing Mining Infrastructure Teams with CAD related works using CAD tool.
- You will also be computer literate with a reasonable proficiency in MS office suite and CAD tools
- Having a thirst for knowledge, cultural awareness, an open mind, and good English
- communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work as part of a team.
- Coordinating his/her work with other members of the Team.
- Work competently with minimal supervision or on an individual basis.
- The candidate must have a valid passport.

Desired Skills
- Preference will be given to candidates with minimum 6-15 year of experience in a consulting firm in mineral processing using CAD tool.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
- Ability to work well as part of a team or on an individual basis.
Qualifications
- 6-15 years of experience in Civil 2D/3D drafting and modeling.
- Minimum of a Diploma in civil engineering.
- Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to the detail.
- Familiar with working in a LEAN environment.
- Experience with projects in Australia, New Zealand would be an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English
