Job Description: Senior BI Consultant

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BI Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL queries, SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), and a working knowledge of Power BI or Tableau. This role requires a strategic thinker who can lead a small team, manage BI projects, and deliver actionable insights to support business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Understand client requirements and collaborate with stakeholders to define business intelligence needs and objectives.
- Develop, deploy, and execute BI solutions encompassing data modelling, dashboards, reports, and visualizations for presenting complex information clearly
- Leading and developing data warehouse and business intelligence solutions utilizing the Microsoft BI platform (mainly SSMS and SSIS)
- Utilize SSIS for developing, implementing, and managing ETL processes.
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI or Tableau to visualize data, ensuring its accuracy and integrity throughout BI processes.
- Enhance database performance through query optimization and indexing.
- Manage data warehousing solutions and ensure effective data storage and retrieval.
- Drive BI projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high quality
- Contribute to data governance initiatives to establish data standards, security protocols, and management best practices
- Conduct Datamart/Data warehouse modelling in alignment with business requirements and optimize data models for BI implementation.
- Perform data validation and quality checks to uphold data accuracy and reliability in BI solutions.
- Participate in data governance initiatives to establish data standards, data security protocols, and data management best practices.
- Lead and prepare project planning directly with client business users and sponsors, involving reviews of requirements and architecture, as well as sessions to establish project milestones.
- Lead and mentor a small team of BI developers and analysts, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Primary Skills:
- Proficient in SQL with a strong understanding of complex queries, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Extensive experience with SSIS for ETL processes.
- Proficient in using BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
- Familiarity with database design principles and data warehousing concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
