Our Senior Backup Engineer will assist in the support and maintenance of key IT Operations Infrastructure systems to sustain the overall health of the IT organization. The Senior Backup Engineer will also work with internal discipline leadership, process owners, and various service delivery groups. They will collaborate with diverse and technically-proficient workforce in a professional and courteous manner.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily monitoring and management of the backup solution.
- Perform problem management and incident correlation on re-occurring issues.
- Create and update documentation of the backup environment.
- Be an escalation point for all backup-related issues.
- Performance and capacity management.
- System administration and IT certification in Linux, Microsoft, VMware, or other network-related fields are added advantages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills mandatory
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge with 8-9+ Years of experience in the enterprise IT infrastructure, including implementation and maintenance of Backup solutions.
- Experience with backup/ recovery architecture and design with one or more of the tools (Veeam, Avamar, Cohesity, Rubrik, Commvault, Networker, NetBackup).
- Should be well experienced in customer-facing skills such as - Technical understanding, presentation skills, and deep expertise in backup hardware and software (Ransomware protection, criticality of data, data resiliency, isolation, Backup tool (Preferable Commvault)
- Comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience with complex mission-critical applications, including RTO and RPO, legal data, Data Governance, GDPR, and PII information.
- Excellent understanding of Backup technology, with a clear understanding of Filesystem, OS, VADP, NDMP, DB Backup, Snapshot, and system recovery technology.
- Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following: datacenter infrastructure, Software-defined Backup, SaaS-based infrastructure, Public/Private cloud, high-performance computing, Ransomware protection, Identity and Access, Security patching, endpoint management, Network, or Firewall.
