Description

The API Automation QA Engineer will be part of the team that standardizes and certifies solutions for Partners and 3rd Party. These software products demand high quality processes, controls, and testing capability. Engineer will be responsible for validation of the 3rd party solution, automate QA process, work on public API test automation and maintain the test environment.
The ideal candidate must be able to create detailed test plans, test cases and reports, and be able to set up an test environment (Deployed in k8s and/or Windows Server). Candidates must be able to communicate efficiently with other development teams in Germany, the US and Canada as well as with other 3rd party Partners on demand.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- 4+ years of QA testing experience, design, and contribution to real-world test scenarios that emulate the end-user experience.
- Knowledge of automated testing approaches.
- Understanding of API and testing experience
- Proficiency in a programming language(s) such as Python, JavaScript, ES, Java or similar.
- Strong test documentation (test plan, test cases, reports) experience
- Ability to read, understand, edit, and comment on existing code
- Understanding of performance testing
- Experience with working in a distributed team, across several time zones, and a centralized source control system
- Experience setting up complex virtual and software environments
- Knowledge of script languages, Docker, k8s.
- A proven track record to work independently, though collaboratively and a willingness to learn
- Good level of English, good verbal and written communication skills

Will be considered a plus:
- Experience testing the public SaaS API.
- Experience working in the Media industry or with software
- Experience creating the API test frameworks.
- Customer facing role experience

Job Responsibilities

- Ensure the compliance of the provided solution with the requirements for the integration.
- Build and maintain test environment(s)
- Assist with certification process and provide certification report
- Create automated tests, automation test framework(s)
- Create and maintain CI
- Review the merge requests of other engineers contributing to the automation work
- Collaborate with other teams
