The Senior Associate Cloud Services Architect is an entry level subject matter expert and is also a pre-sales persona, required to develop their skills to work with clients and sales/delivery teams in a value co-creation process resulting in the design of less complex Managed Services solutions across the Cloud technology domain.
This role is responsible for the development of competitive, innovative, secure, multi-year, viable Managed Services solutions and associated costing inputs to commercial models.
Taking guidance when required, the Senior Associate Cloud Services Architect applies both solution design and sales skills to engage and help close opportunities with decision-makers.
This role has the opportunity to design solutions with some of the most innovative global organizations, technologies, accelerating the digital transformation business objectives and outcomes.
- Excellent Knowledge about latest Windows, Azure, VMware, Linux Operating systems and their services.
- Exposure on following OS: WIN 2012/WIN 2016/WIN 2019 & Linux flavours.
- Understanding and Knowledge on SQL servers.
- Ability to create and Setup the servers on Azure and VMware environment along with their configurations.
- Knowledge about the network topologies concept.
- Basic understanding about Veeam, Azure Backup (DPM), Nimble, Chasity Backup tool.
- Exposure on AD, DNS, DHCP along with Certificate installation and deployment.
- Clear understanding about Patch management, installation and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge about Radius, VPN servers for wireless security.
- Ability to manage day to day IT administrators task and good communication skills.
- Basic knowledge on Azure exchange and email platforms.
- Following Applications Deep Knowledge would be preferred (MoveiT, Cribl, Keeper, PWS, XTAM)
- Understanding about Capacity, Performance & Availability Management to
- Create the report.
- Assessing and documenting risks to service availability at regular intervals.
- Monitoring and recording service availability results and comparing to targets.
- Knowledge about service now tool to create the ticket.
- Exposure and Deep Knowledge on Centre of Internet Security and Benchmarking Hardening (CIS) would be preferred.
- CIS benchmark document to understand the recommended security configurations and best practices.
- Implement the security configurations and settings recommended in the CIS benchmark.
- Configure user accounts, file permissions, network settings, and other system parameters as specified in the benchmark document.
- Engineers may need to modify configuration files, use group policies (on Windows), or run command-line tools to apply the recommended changes.
- After applying the recommended configurations, thoroughly test your system to ensure that it still functions as expected.
- Test different aspects of your systems functionality, including network connectivity, application functionality, and user access.
- Educate your team members and system administrators about the importance of adhering to the CIS benchmark and following security best practices.
- Exposure about updates and changes to the CIS benchmarks by regularly checking the CIS website for the latest versions.
- Verify that the security settings have been correctly applied in terms of CIS benchmarks and that there are no unintended consequences
What You'll Be Doing
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs less complex managed service solutions to meet client requirements by integrating technology and service design across the Cloud domain.
- Conducts sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation, and maintenance of company products.
- Supports the design of the Managed Service offering, interfacing with the platform delivery team.
- Tests and validates new designs features and delivery models or provide suggestions on improving existing service offers that is being taken to market
- Supports the service design deliverables of the solution, working with internal teams and partners to ensure supportability.
- Implements the validation processes by obtaining sign-off from technical, service, and costing stakeholders.
- Maps the client's requirements against the proposed set of service elements and architectures and coordinates the end-to-end solution development (Cloud Services, Technology Architectures, SIAM, SLA, ITSM leading practices).
- Implements a consulting approach that results in a consolidated statement of requirements, scope, transition documents, and costing based need for change, the role of IT, definition of the AS-IS versus desired state (Future Mode of operation defined), gap analysis, and roadmap, highlighted impacts, consequences, and benefits of the intended transformation (people, process, technology).
- Supports the sales teams in presenting an architecture solution to clients with a focus on cost savings or uncovering other client growth opportunities using the ability to discover and analyze the clients current architecture, platforms, and operating models.
- Shares client outcomes and market conditions with other stakeholders so that the global offering leads, and Managed Services community can evolve strategies and develop innovative solutions for the future
- Supports the sales teams to have a commercial model discussion with the client
- Identifies all service costs and populates cost models accurately to ensure full visibility of costs related to the delivery of the service over the contract term
- Assists with vendor management depending on the service offers and ensures that the transition to service delivery teams are well coordinated to ensure a smooth transition
- Performs any other related task as required.
Knowledge and Attributes:
- Understanding of cloud technologies, networking, security, and system administration.
- Working knowledge and value of multi cloud technologies especially cloud native application workflows, understanding of architecture transformation, observability and legacy to cloud migrations.
- Basic Azure and/or GCP and/or AWS infrastructure architect and presales skills.
- Good communication and presentation abilities, coupled with ability to facilitate workshops with clients and internal teams to discover requirements, present solutions and obtain client buy-in.
- Basic level understanding of virtualization, hybrid computing environments, storage technology and cloud native technologies.
- Developing knowledge of Managed Services service and delivery models, including cloud, global, and distributed delivery models.
- Displays the ability to work with costing models in partnership with sales and finance stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate potential improvements and value of solutions to all levels of stakeholders.
- Ability to work within a team, contributing to the success of the team while making a personal contribution, especially in a matrixed organization.
- Up to date knowledge on emerging trends in Cloud technology and related managed services.
- Displays analytical abilities to discover and analyze all input and data.
- Passion for staying abreast of related industry trends and best practices.
- Passion for learning and growing in related specialization.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Information technology/systems or a related field.
- Certification and working knowledge of ITIL, Service Management and Integration, Automation Artificial Intelligence and Analytics preferred.
- Scaled Agile certification or equivalent is desirable.
- Additional desirable technology / vendor certifications are (any one or more) - Azure AZ900 Azure Fundamentals, AWS Cloud Practitioner, VMWare: VTSP or VTSP for AWS/Azure.
Required Experience:
- Moderate level of experience in designing cloud managed services solutions to large enterprise accounts.
- Moderate level of experience in structuring, multi-year profitable contracts.
- Moderate level of solution planning and deal shaping technical experience, with the ability to create compelling value propositions as part of the solution design.
- Moderate level demonstrated experience working in an environment with global delivery and in multiple geographies and industries.
- Moderate level demonstrated experience in designing and implementing cloud solutions, preferably in a managed cloud services environment.
