As a part of our Application Development team, you will work across functions to develop innovative technologies and solutions. The role will provide technical and functional leadership opportunities and will play a key part in supporting our evolving industry and customer base. Ideal candidate will have industry experience, solid foundation in bench-pilot-commercial scale work, good understanding of Bio/chemical engineering fundamentals and data science.
The role is based in Hyderabad, India and will report to the Regional Application Development Leader - Grain Processing.
How you will contribute
This role involves hands on work at bench and pilot scales.
Design, develop, execute, and contribute innovatively to the development of enzyme-based products and processes across scale, analyze and interpret data using data science cum statistics to make a sound recommendation for specific projects.
Collaborate closely with the application scientist to advance the solution while creating and maintaining an up-to-date project data, both at lab and pilot scale.
Objectively support the analysis of customer and project samples using physical, bio/chemical and functional assay.
Manage the day-to-day lab activities while upholding to the highest standards of Occupational Health and Safety.
Support the pre-commercial trials to successfully scale-up product mediated process innovations and communicate trial outcomes to all stakeholders.
Interact with cross functional teams including R&D, sales, marketing, legal, procurement and engineering.
What you will need to be successful
Master`s degree (with 4-6 years of experience) or a PhD degree (with 2 years of experience) in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Bio Engineering, Agriculture Engineering or a related area.
Strong knowledge and experience of industrial scale fermentation, preferably in the grain based ethanol manufacturing.
Experience in executing experiments across scales (Lab-Pilot-Commercial) to assess the performance of enzymes and/or yeast meeting project timelines.
Experience with analytical techniques relevant to monitoring the biotechnological process (Proximate, HPLC, GC, Biochemical assay, Viscometry, PSD, micro-DSC, Etc).
Experience in running trials at bench, pilot and commercial scale with minimal supervision, preferably using enzymes and / or Yeast, to assess their performance.
Proficiency with statistical analysis software such as JMP, SPC, excel, etc., for generating scientific report with objective inferences.
Demonstrated ability in independently managing day-to-day operations with adherence to Occupational, Health and environmental policies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong team player with the ability to deliver results within tight timelines in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel upto 30% across ASPAC, including to customer commercial facilities.
