Brief Job Description: The Candidate will be responsible for overseeing all the financial and accounting operations within the company.The role will involve managing financial reporting & accounting, inventory management, cash flow, compliance, and team leadership.
Technical Skills:Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Tally, Zoho Books) and advanced Excel skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Financial Management & MIS Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of MIS (Financial Statements - Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss and Cash Flow Statements), ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory regulations and accounting standards.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial performance analysis.
2.Forecasting:
- Collaborate with production and sales departments to forecast revenues, costs, and profits, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure liquidity and operational efficiency.
3.Inventory Management:
- Work closely with the production & sales team to manage inventory levels and ensure the inventory work flow is best optimized for the entity.
- Regularly performinventory verificationto ensure the physical count aligns with the accounting records.
4.Compliance Review:
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, including GST, TDS, Income tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with internal and external consultants to facilitate filings and other requirements.
5.Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise the accounts team, providing leadership, training, and career development.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and implement strategies to improve productivity and accuracy in financial reporting/ accounting.
6.Financial Systems & Process Improvement:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial software and systems to improve data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve financial controls across the organization.
7.Internal Controls & SOP:
- Develop and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Be responsible for drafting, implementing and overseeing the Standard Operating Procedures especially for the Accounting and Inventory (Operations Department).
Experience:The candidate must have at least 5-6 years experience in accounting, preferably within the retail, D2C or manufacturing sector, and has understanding of accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis (specific to the jewellery industry is a bonus).
