The Impact you will have in this role:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for various tasks, which include: Preparing account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and processes, Assist reconciliation center of excellence with resolution of open reconciling items, prepare and post journal entries for DTCC's entities process improvements, recording intercompany transactions, working with foreign currency transactions, assist with quarterly and year-end audits, other duties as assigned.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Executes month-end close activities across our multi-currency, multi-entity, and jurisdictional environment such as preparing and/or posting journal entries to accounts (transfer pricing, revenue, or expense accruals, etc.), maintaining general ledger, and review of trial balances.
- Prepare fluctuation analysis of balance sheets and income statements.
- Prepare account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts impacting assigned legal entities and processes
- Assist reconciliation center of excellence with resolution of open reconciling items
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the departments End User Computer Applications (EUCA) documentation and following the organization wide policy
- Prepare internal balance sheets, P&Ls, ad-hoc reports
- Assist external auditors with year-end audits
- Actively participate in DTCC-wide projects, such as system upgrades and process improvements
- Identify control gaps and work with line Manager to devise resolution for risk and control process documents
- Establish, maintain, report, and continually improve performance against a set of effectiveness and efficiency benchmarks.
- Work and communicate with various other departments i.e. Accounts Payable, Payroll/HR, Billing, Collections, Treasury and General ledger Reconciliation teams in order to ensure a smooth month end close
- Other duties as assigned.
- Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk ensures controls are operating effectively and escalates appropriately
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success:
- 4-5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Intense attention to detail
- Fondness towards fixing broken processes and unafraid to challenge the norm
- High problem solving and analytical skills, ability to connect the dots
- Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and IFRS
- Familiarity with Oracle accounting software, a plus
- Strong ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines, continually meet established deadlines
