The Senior Accountant plays a key role in the financial management of the organization, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Generate financial reports for management review.
General Ledger Management:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Monitor transactions to ensure proper classification and recording.
- Review journal entries and adjustments.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and provide analysis.
- Make recommendations for cost-saving opportunities.
Financial Analysis:
- Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations.
- Conduct profitability analysis and cost-benefit analysis.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as required.
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and others as required.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Assist in tax planning and strategy.
Audit Support:
- Coordinate with auditors during annual audits.
- Provide necessary documentation and support for audit inquiries.
- Implement audit recommendations and improvements.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
- Implement best practices in accounting processes and procedures.
- Streamline financial reporting processes.
Team Leadership and Training:
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
- Conduct training on accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience as an accountant, with at least 5 years in progressively responsible roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
