This role will be actively involved in monthly close processes by performing employee salary and benefit related accounting activities including, but not limited to the below topics:
- 401k,
- flexible spending account (FSA) account reconciliations,
- vacation accrual,
- accrued bonus,
- accrued benefits, and
- salary and wage reconciliations to the payroll register.
- Post and reconcile other accounts receivable.
- Prepare balance sheet fluctuation analysis as part of the month end closing process.
- Work closely with various internal teams to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data used for accounting purposes.
- Support the annual audit process by assisting with requests from external auditors and working to resolve open audit inquiries timely.
- Actively participate in process improvement efforts and drive automation of routine processes within the Accounting Team.
- Support ad hoc tasks, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Commerce Graduate / Bachelor of Commerce Honors Graduate
- Chartered Accountant
- Big 4 experience in audit or tax
- 3+ years of experience working in an accounting function; prior public accounting experience
- Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with enterprise software (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, Workday), a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Positive attitude and flexible, willing to jump in wherever needed
- Team oriented, ability to multi-task, proactive and consistently meets deadlines
- Willingness to work until 2PM EST during initial onboarding, month end close and for key projects for overlap with the US team
