Who we seek:
We're looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to supervise general accounting operations and control our financial transactions. Your responsibilities will include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, preparing month-end close procedures, and ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of the company's accounting activities, among other tasks.
You possess both excellent analytical skills and an in-depth knowledge of accounting principles to efficiently analyze financial reports and forecasts. You should also have experience in managing accountants and junior analysts.
What you'll do:
Work closely with the Senior Manager of General Accounting to complete the daily and monthly activities, including:
- Review and manage accounts payable
- Prepare and post inter-company journal entries
- Weekly cash report - consolidate cash in and out for all entities and prepare a summary report for the parent company
- Prepare and update schedules for month-end close activities (prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, amortization, depreciation, etc)
- Participate in year-end close processes
- Create timely and accurate accounting reports and present them to the company's executives and senior management
- Work with financial and accounting managers to optimize the company's accounting systems
- Develop your own recommendations to improve procedures and detect inaccuracies
- Take part in forecasting and financial standards-setting processes
- Participate in the department's goal-setting activities
- Support and oversee internal and external tax audits, and tax returns
- Support business processes and accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation
- Ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP requirements
- Manage a small team of accountants and junior analysts
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years experience in general accounting
- Extensive experience with typical accounting procedures
- Good experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Good practical experience with accounting systems. NetSuite preferred.
- Good knowledge of financial accounting statements and business trends
- Good understanding of MS Office, especially Excel
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with accuracy and attention to detail
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant area
- Certification such as CMA or CPA are advantageous
