KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITY OF CO-ORDINATOR
One must be familiar with procedures one needs to follow to work in sync with the school's philosophy. The school will not compromise on the format and methodology that is expected of all. A strong team effort defines the success of a system. The role of a coordinator is to ensure that high standards of excellence are maintained in the school through high quality of learning for each student, and with the responsibility to oversee the operations and smooth management and administration of the school. Kindly go through the duties of a
CORDINATOR carefully and try to assimilate them to the fullest:
1). To oversee the planning, curriculum development, implementation of the curriculum integrated with activities and form mornings
2). To co-ordinate the curriculum offered with all to ensure balance and continuity
3). To model effective lessons, instructional strategies (may include teaching in the class)
4). To observe classroom lectures, give feedback to the teachers and use it to develop training plans
5). To assist in developing and conducting assessments
6). To analyze student books and feedback into instructional practices and student learning outcomes
7). To oversee goal setting for students and to ensure that they receive individual attention allowing the teacher to determine whether special assistance is necessary
8). To set aims and objectives for individual students wherever necessary
9). to act as a facilitator in school, able to translate the school's vision for creative learning into practical implementation
- Co-Curricular & Extra-Curricular Program:
1). To plan and supervise the co- & extra-curricular activities namely celebrations, competitions, exhibitions, excursions, field trips, various functions and events etc.
2). To plan the collation of orders, maintenance of stock and equipment for the section
3). To establish clear policies and practices for assessing, recording and reporting students achievements
4). to ensure all programmes are carried out with due regard to health and safety, and the safeguarding of children
5). To promote a school culture that is happy, purposeful, proactive and productive
1). To be involved with the recruitment of new staff by evaluating all CVs received and assisting with the interviews and micro-teaching schedule of candidates
2). To ensure that new teachers and teaching assistants are inducted into the work of the
School, and are familiar with all policies
3). To facilitate opportunities for staff to observe each-other's teaching and also to manage staff co-ordination among themselves
4). To manage staff requirements on joining and provide clearance on leaving
5). To oversee staff adjustments in case of their leaves
6). To advise and inform the management about staffing and resourcing needs, deployment of staff, staff training needs, section procedures and policies, and new developments in the section.
7). To plan staff goal setting and presentations
8). To review the organisation of the events and provide an opportunity for staff to make suggestions for alterations and improvements
9). To assist with identifying and recruiting potential Mentor Teachers
- Professional Development:
1). To manage the operations of the assigned department, including but not limited to the execution of all systems and processes related to HR, Impact, Government-related and Administration with support from the admin and central functions
2). To ensure that all expenditures done under your department are aligned to the school budget.
3). To plan and execute the performance management system for all section-based staff
4). To review the assessment and reporting systems annually and suggest improvements to the Principal
5). To carry out other responsibilities as the School Principal may reasonably require both during term-time and in the school holidays
6). To document all undertaken procedures as and when required
1). To support the recruitment of the appropriate number of students each year from target communities
2). To monitor attendance of parents or guardians at parents meetings and arrange alternative meetings for parents as necessary
3). To send notes or letters to parents publicising the arrangements for the school events
4). To collaborate with the admin on the parent engagement plan for the yearmonthly meetings, opportunities for involvement, relationship building, etc
5). To keep the admin fully informed about the welfare and progress of students
6). To ensure students regular attendance throughout the year
7). To ensure parents have clear and accurate information about their child's progress
8). To document ALL meetings with their minutes and their effective implementation by staff, students and parents
9). To maintain positive relationships with all officials as and when required
10).To act as a liaison between parents, coaches, students, administrators and teachers
The Coordinator will support the work of, and report to the Principal. He/she will maintain progressive relationship and share responsibilities for the welfare of staff with other members of the Leadership Team and deputise for the Principal in his/her absence.
