SAS Data Scientist (Chennai)
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:
- Extract usable data from valuable data sources.
- Use machine learning tools to select features, create, and optimize classifiers.
- Develop prediction systems and machine learning algorithms.
- Carry out pre-processing of structured and unstructured data.
- Process, cleanse, and validate the integrity of data for analysis.
- Enhance data collection procedures to include all relevant information for analytic systems.
- Analyze large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions.
- Perform exploratory data analyses, generate, and test hypotheses.
- Prepare and analyze historical data, identifying patterns.
- Apply good applied statistics skills like distributions, regression, etc.
- Implement new statistical methodologies as needed for specific analysis.
- Apply data mining/machine learning algorithms using SAS STAT, SAS OA, etc., in SAS 9.4 platform using SAS code.
- Desirable knowledge of statistical programming languages like R, Python, and database query languages like SQL, Hive, Pig
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Proficiency in data mining and extraction techniques.
- Strong understanding and application of machine learning algorithms.
- Ability to pre process both structured and unstructured data.
- Excellent data analysis skills, with the ability to find patterns and derive insights.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.
- Experience with statistical programming languages like R, Python, and database query languages like SQL, Hive, Pig.
- Familiarity with SAS platform and related tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with large datasets.
- Proficient in communication skills .
- SAS Certification Mandatory
Qualifications And Experience
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Over all 5.0years exp in IT technology, including a minimum of 3.0years as a SAS.
