SAP RAP ABAP Consultant

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled RAP ABAP Developer to join our dynamic SAP development team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) and a strong background in ABAP programming. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining innovative SAP applications and services, leveraging the RAP model to ensure scalability, robustness, and ease of use.

Key Responsibilities:

1. **Design and Development:**

- Develop end-to-end SAP applications using the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP).

- Implement RAP-based services and applications that integrate seamlessly with SAP Fiori and S/4HANA.

- Create and maintain CDS views, behavior definitions, and service definitions.

- Ensure the development of scalable and reusable ABAP objects and components.

2. **Technical Expertise:**

- Utilize ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse for coding, debugging, and testing RAP applications.

- Leverage SAP Business Technology Platform for deploying and managing RAP services.

- Apply best practices in SAP development to optimize performance and maintainability.

- Stay updated with the latest developments in RAP, ABAP, and SAP technologies.

3. **Collaboration and Support:**

- Collaborate with functional consultants, UI/UX designers, and other developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and team members.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to RAP applications, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and guidelines.

4. **Documentation and Testing:**

- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation for developed solutions.

- Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and performance tests to ensure high-quality deliverables.

- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and support the deployment of applications to production environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- **Experience:**

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ABAP development.

- At least 1-2 years of hands-on experience with the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP).

- **Technical Skills:**

- Proficient in ABAP, including Object-Oriented ABAP and ABAP for SAP HANA.

- Strong knowledge of Core Data Services (CDS), including CDS views and annotations.

- Experience with ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse.

- Familiarity with SAP Fiori, UI5, and SAP Gateway.

- Understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and development practices.

- Knowledge of OData services and RESTful APIs.
