We seek a highly skilled SAP Data Engineer / Data Migration Specialist to lead data migration activities, specifically migrating data from SAP Business Suite 6/7 to our in-house ERP system databases. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SAP data models and database designs and experience with SAP ERP data migration projects.
Job Location: Germany (on-site)
Employment Type: Initially on a Fixed-term contract for 2 years with a scope for being absorbed in the permanent role after the contract period.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead data migration activities, including data mapping, technical data cleansing, and authoring migration technical specifications.
- Collaborate with SAP partners, to understand customizations performed on the existing SAP database and their impact on business processes.
- Work closely with peers, product managers, and business analysts to understand transformed data requirements.
- Develop scripts to extract required data from SAP ERP databases and load them into our in-house ERP SQL Server database or other databases as necessary.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the migration process.
- Understand end-to-end process flows and the use of all data objects across those flows and applications, including both master data and transactional data.
- Utilize knowledge and experience with IBM Cognos, if applicable, to enhance migration processes.
- Maintain a basic understanding of the ERP system's general architecture to support data migration efforts effectively.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum 5 yrs of core experience in SAP
- Expert understanding of data models and database designs in SAP Business Suite 6/7.
- Proven experience working on SAP ERP data migration projects with a good understanding of the data migration life cycle.
- Strong knowledge of RDBMS and SQL concepts, with the ability to write complex queries.
- Familiarity with end-to-end process flows and various data objects within SAP ERP systems.
- Experience working with IBM Cognos is a plus but not mandatory.
- Basic understanding of ERP systems general architecture.
- Successful candidate must be willing to travel to Germany.
