Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SAP HCM Payroll Consultant with expertise in UK payroll to join our HR/Payroll team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and configuring SAP HCM Payroll modules, ensuring accurate payroll processing in accordance with UK regulations, and providing end-to-end payroll support to the organization. You will play a crucial role in maintaining system integrity and ensuring compliance with all payroll legislation and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Configuration &; Management:

    • Configure and maintain SAP HCM Payroll for UK payroll operations, ensuring all payroll processes comply with legal and organizational requirements.
    • Set up and maintain payroll schema, wage types, and payroll areas within SAP HCM.
    • Configure tax calculations, national insurance contributions, pensions, and statutory benefits in line with UK legislation.
  • Payroll Processing:

    • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for UK employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws (e.g., PAYE, NIC, statutory sick pay, maternity leave, etc.).
    • Work closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure seamless integration of payroll data.
    • Run and monitor payroll cycles, including pre-payroll validation, payroll runs, and post-payroll audits.
  • Compliance &; Reporting:

    • Ensure UK payroll processes are compliant with all statutory requirements, including tax filing (RTI), year-end reporting, and other regulatory filings.
    • Prepare and review necessary reports, such as payslips, P60s, P11Ds, and other statutory returns (e.g., P45).
    • Stay up-to-date with changes to UK tax legislation and ensure system updates are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Payroll Support:

    • Provide first-line support for payroll-related queries from employees and management.
    • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues, liaising with internal departments or external vendors as needed.
    • Provide training and guidance on payroll procedures to HR and other internal stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify areas for improvement in payroll processes and suggest optimizations.
    • Participate in SAP HCM system upgrades and enhancements, including testing, training, and post-go-live support.
Required Skills &; Qualifications:
  • Education &; Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NIC, statutory benefits, and compliance reporting (e.g., RTI, P60, P11D).
    • Experience working with SAP HCM Payroll module, including configuration and processing.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Hands-on experience with SAP HCM Payroll (configuration, processing, reporting).
    • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, for payroll-related reporting and data manipulation.
    • Familiarity with HRIS systems and payroll integration tools.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex payroll issues.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
  • Certification in Payroll or HR-related qualifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPD).
  • Experience with other SAP HCM modules (e.g., Personnel Administration, Time Management).
  • Knowledge of additional UK legislation (e.g., auto-enrolment, apprenticeship levy).
Working Conditions:
  • Full-time position.
  • Occasional overtime may be required during payroll processing periods or month-end/year-end reporting.
