Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Consultant with 6+ years of expertise in managing and supporting SAP environments, specifically SAP S/4HANA. As an SAP Basis consultant, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, performance tuning, monitoring, and administration of SAP systems, including the S/4HANA environment. You will also work closely with technical teams to ensure system stability, availability, and seamless integration across the SAP landscape.

This role is ideal for professionals with a strong technical background in SAP Basis, combined with experience in SAP S/4HANA projects, upgrades, migrations, and cloud-based SAP deployments.

Key Responsibilities:
SAP System Installation &; Configuration: Manage and oversee the installation, configuration, and upgrade of SAP systems, with a focus on SAP S/4HANA and its underlying infrastructure.
S/4HANA Migration &; Upgrades: Lead and support S/4HANA migration and conversion projects from ECC to S/4HANA, including system landscape design, data migration, and integration planning.
Performance Monitoring &; Tuning: Perform ongoing system monitoring and fine-tuning to ensure optimal performance of SAP systems (including S/4HANA), focusing on response times, database performance, and system utilization.
SAP Landscape Management: Manage and maintain the SAP landscape, including SAP Development, Quality Assurance, and Production environments. Oversee system copy, client copy, and transport management processes.
Database Administration: Ensure optimal database performance and high availability for SAP systems, with expertise in SAP HANA (database administration, backup &; recovery, and troubleshooting).
User &; Security Management: Administer user accounts, authorizations, roles, and profiles in SAP. Implement security measures such as Single Sign-On (SSO) and encryption for SAP environments.
Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage robust backup and recovery strategies, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness for SAP systems, especially S/4HANA.
Patch Management &; Support: Apply patches and updates to SAP systems, including HANA database patches, kernel upgrades, and other necessary updates to keep the environment current.
System Integration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (SAP functional consultants, ABAP developers, Basis administrators) to integrate SAP systems with third-party applications and ensure smooth data exchange.
Troubleshooting &; Issue Resolution: Act as the escalation point for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to SAP Basis, performance issues, job failures, and system outages.
Cloud Deployment &; Management: Experience with SAP Cloud Platform, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform to deploy, manage, and scale SAP S/4HANA systems in the cloud.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed system documentation, including configurations, best practices, and operational procedures for SAP Basis support.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: 6+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration, with at least 2 full-cycle implementations or migrations to SAP S/4HANA.
S/4HANA Expertise: Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture, HANA database administration, and deployment processes. Experience in managing an S/4HANA landscape, including installation, configuration, and optimization.
SAP System Landscape Management: Proficient in SAP system landscape design, SAP transport management, system copy, client copy, and configuration of SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, and BW).
HANA Database Management: Hands-on experience in administering SAP HANA databases, including backup and recovery, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and upgrades.
Operating System &; Database Knowledge: Familiar with Linux/Unix, Windows, and SAP-certified databases (especially SAP HANA, Oracle, or MS SQL Server).
SAP Solution Manager: Experience in using SAP Solution Manager for system monitoring, landscape management, and performing system health checks.
Performance Tuning: Expertise in tuning SAP systems for high performance, identifying bottlenecks in application, database, and system layers, and implementing corrective actions.
Cloud Technologies: Experience working with cloud-based SAP solutions (SAP Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure) and understanding of cloud infrastructure.
Backup/Recovery &; High Availability: Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies for SAP systems and high availability configuration for S/4HANA.
SAP Security: Experience with SAP security concepts, including user administration, roles, profiles, and SAP SSO configuration.
Tools &; Utilities: Familiarity with SAP management tools like SAP Solution Manager, SAP Landscape Management (LaMa), and other SAP BASIS tools.
Problem-Solving &; Analytical Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide practical solutions.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and interact with business and technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
SAP Certifications: SAP Basis certification or relevant certifications in SAP S/4HANA or SAP HANA administration.
Cloud Certifications: Cloud platform certifications (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) are a plus.
Automation Tools: Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Chef, or Terraform for managing SAP systems is a plus.
Project Management: Experience working in agile or project management environments, especially in large SAP transformation projects.
