About The Position
As a SAP DevOps Infrastructure Engineer at Roche, you will occupy a strategic position within our international IT department, championing technological innovation in a fast-paced and agile environment. This role grants you the authority to influence and enhance our cutting-edge SAP platforms on a global scale, aligning with our commitment to operational excellence and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Engages in and improves autonomously the whole lifecycle of platforms and servicesfrom inception and design through deployment, operation and retirement by applying software engineering principles to build and manage large scale IT infrastructure products and services (both on-premises or in public cloud) optimizing:
- services reliability, availability, capacity and performance and eliminating work through automation
- software development and deployment by abstracting away the complexity of infrastructure providing self-service tools and APIs for developers that allow code and ship software quickly
- Designs, implements and maintains CI/CD pipelines, enabling developers to easily build, test, and deploy their applications.
- Ensures IT infrastructure services reach and maintain the agreed Service Level Indicators (SLIs), objectives (SLOs), agreements (SLAs) in compliance with QA requirements
- Responsible for availability, tuning, performance, efficiency, change and configuration management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning
- Ensures implemented solutions and components comply with Quality/Regulatory standards, as applicable
- Implements cost, compliance and security best practices, ensuring that platforms and services meet the corresponding requirements
- Partner and collaborate with developers, Managed Services suppliers, other teams and vendors to:
- continuously improve application development velocity
- optimize services reliability, availability and performance
- Works closely with development teams to ensure that new features and changes are rolled out with reliability in mind bringing a broader and more strategic understanding of reliability that spans multiple facets of development
- Act as an analyst by transforming complex customers and developers needs into specific technical requirements to be implemented by the product team or by other teams
Technical skills:
- Experience with SAP Basis/Hana in a high compute environment
- Experience on SAP Solution Manager activities including, EWA setup, E2E, SD and CHARM configuration
- OpenText Content Suite
- OpenText Extended ECM
- OTDS - Opentext Directory Services
- Install and configuration of HANA server, stand-alone SLT Replication Server, add on in ECC for SLT
- Installation and support of ERP/Business Suite on HANA
- Create and configure connection SLT to HANA, SLT to ECC
- Migration of other database to HANA experience
- Configure monitoring of SAP HANA Databases(DCC)
- Automate scenarios to bring more efficient to the operation
- Experience in reviewing the system performance and provide recommendations for improvements
- Ability to develop and modify shell scripts to automate procedures
- Ability to document and translate business requirements to provide technology solutions
- Experience in SAP Installations
- SAP Net Weaver operational problem troubleshooting
- SAP upgrade, BW upgrade, Oracle upgrade, kernel upgrades
- Practical experience with low code/no code solutions is a plus
- Practical experience in task managing tools, ticket managing, such as Trello and Service Now
- Good understanding of SAP application security, Single Sign-on (SSO) is a plus, as well as of SAP cloud and standard identity federation options
- Experience with the writing of governance documents is a plus
- Awareness of ICFR, GxP and other regulations is a plus
Education / Years of experience
- 2-4 years experience working in a major, global organization preferably in a regulated Industry in multiple technical domains;
- Strong hands-on technical skills, operational background, and working experience with infrastructure technologies and business applications;
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to quickly understand complex and sometimes ambiguous situations; good strategic capabilities;
- Fluent in verbal and written English, any additional language skills are an asset (German, Spanish, etc.);
