The SAP Basis Administrator plays a vital role in the management and maintenance of SAP systems within the organization. Responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of SAP environments, the administrator serves as the backbone of our technical landscape, working in tandem with various cross-functional teams to support business processes. This role is essential for streamlining enterprise resource planning and driving efficient operations by proactively managing system parameters, monitoring performance, and applying essential patches and upgrades. With extensive knowledge in database and operating system (OS) management, the SAP Basis Administrator not only resolves issues that arise but also implements best practices that help in optimizing performance and enhancing security. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SAP architectural and infrastructure components, creating seamless user experiences and allowing the organization to leverage full functionality from its SAP systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Administer SAP environments, ensuring stability and performance.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshooting issues.
  • Implement SAP patches and upgrades as needed.
  • Manage user accounts, roles, and authorizations.
  • Coordinate backup and recovery activities for SAP systems.
  • Optimize system parameters for peak performance.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and audits.
  • Manage transport management system (TMS) for system changes.
  • Assist in SAP landscape design and architecture planning.
  • Document procedures, system configurations, and guidelines.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Collaborate with network and database teams for optimal performance.
  • Provide support during SAP system installations and migrations.
  • Maintain SAP GUI and user experience settings.
  • Stay current with SAP technologies and industry trends.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in SAP Basis Administration.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP NetWeaver, HANA, and ECC.
  • Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or HANA databases.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Unix, or Windows Server administration.
  • Understanding of network protocols and configurations.
  • Proven experience with backup and recovery solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications in SAP Basis or related fields preferred.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
  • Experience in project management is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work on-call or outside regular hours when needed.
