Overview
The SAP Basis Administrator plays a vital role in the management and maintenance of SAP systems within the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Administer SAP environments, ensuring stability and performance.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshooting issues.
- Implement SAP patches and upgrades as needed.
- Manage user accounts, roles, and authorizations.
- Coordinate backup and recovery activities for SAP systems.
- Optimize system parameters for peak performance.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and audits.
- Manage transport management system (TMS) for system changes.
- Assist in SAP landscape design and architecture planning.
- Document procedures, system configurations, and guidelines.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Collaborate with network and database teams for optimal performance.
- Provide support during SAP system installations and migrations.
- Maintain SAP GUI and user experience settings.
- Stay current with SAP technologies and industry trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in SAP Basis Administration.
- Strong knowledge of SAP NetWeaver, HANA, and ECC.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or HANA databases.
- Familiarity with Linux, Unix, or Windows Server administration.
- Understanding of network protocols and configurations.
- Proven experience with backup and recovery solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications in SAP Basis or related fields preferred.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience in project management is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work on-call or outside regular hours when needed.
