Overview
The SAP ABAP UI5 FIORI Consultant with CDS & ODATA plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business processes and technology. This position requires an in-depth understanding of SAP's ABAP programming language along with UI5 and Fiori frameworks to design and deliver user-friendly applications. The consultant's primary focus will be to optimize business processes through innovative solutions and tailored applications. As organizations increasingly adopt SAP technologies for better efficiency, this role becomes vital to ensure that users can seamlessly interact with the systems. Leveraging Component-Based Development (CBD) with Core Data Services (CDS) and OData services, the consultant will drive integration and performance. This position requires not only technical skills but also a strong ability to collaborate with both business and IT stakeholders to deliver solutions that enhance productivity and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop applications using SAP UI5 and Fiori.
- Implement backend logic using ABAP programming.
- Create and maintain CDS views for efficient data modeling.
- Develop and expose OData services for seamless data communication.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to enhance user interfaces.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of applications.
- Participate in requirement gathering sessions with business stakeholders.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting during development.
- Ensure adherence to best practices and SAP guidelines.
- Conduct unit testing and integration testing of applications.
- Stay updated on SAP technologies and trends.
- Document development processes and solutions for future reference.
- Assist in the deployment of applications to production environments.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams for project success.
- Train end-users and provide post-deployment support.
- Collaborate in project planning and sprint retrospective meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP ABAP development.
- Proficiency in SAP UI5 and Fiori application development.
- Extensive experience in building and consuming OData services.
- Strong knowledge of Core Data Services (CDS) and data modeling.
- Experience with SAP HANA is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
- Experience in customizing Fiori applications based on client requirements.
- Knowledge of modern frontend frameworks is a plus.
- Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Certification in ABAP/UI5/Fiori is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality delivery.
