Overview: The SAP ABAP Consultant with CDS and OData expertise plays a critical role in the digital transformation journey of an organization by leveraging the capabilities of SAP platforms. This consultant is responsible for developing and implementing customized solutions that streamline business processes and enhance overall system performance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of ABAP programming, Core Data Services (CDS), and OData service creation. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain ABAP programs to support business functionalities.
- Create and implement CDS views to enhance data modeling capabilities.
- Design and develop OData services for seamless integrations with Fiori applications.
- Collaborate with functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements.
- Perform system analysis and debugging to resolve technical issues.
- Enhance existing applications and reports as per changing business needs.
- Participate in system testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Ensure code quality and adherence to development standards.
- Contribute to the documentation of technical specifications and design documents.
- Provide support during system upgrades and migrations.
- Optimize existing ABAP code for performance and efficiency.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
- Participate in project planning and execution phases.
- Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and best practices.
- Foster strong relationships with business stakeholders and provide technical guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in SAP ABAP development.
- Proven experience in building CDS views and OData services.
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with SAP Fiori applications.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and database concepts.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting ABAP programs.
- Familiarity with SAP Web IDE and development tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
