SAP ABAP Consultant.

We are seeking a seasoned SAP ABAP Consultant and will be part of the Internal SAP Technical team and will be responsible for ABAP developments in SAP ERP. The Internal team is owner and custodian of all custom developments in the SAP system. The team handles various types of SAP related initiatives like roll outs, implementation, upgrade, support, enhancements, and Integrations. You will be responsible for designing, building, and configuring applications to meet business process and application requirements using SAP ABAP Development. Your typical day will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, analyzing business requirements, and developing solutions to meet those requirements.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Develop and implement SAP ABAP applications, including forms, reports, and interfaces.
• Collaborate with clients to understand business requirements and design customized solutions using SAP ABAP.
• Configure and maintain SAP SD modules, such as Sales and Distribution.
• Create and maintain CDS views and smart forms, and implement OData services and enhancements.
• Participate in complete SAP projects and rollouts, contributing to both projects and support initiatives.
• Work closely with Technical and Functional leads, Project Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders for development activities.
• Demonstrate a commitment to quality, security, efficiency, and maintainability.
• Design, implement, and test automated and manual processes to support business needs and corporate strategy.
• Translate business requirements into technical design documentation, and conduct code and design reviews of IT applications.
• Support the onsite consulting team of experts in all relevant aspects of development work and coordinate with remote development teams.
• Participate in practice initiatives, demonstrate innovation, share knowledge, and enhance reusability.
• Prepare Technical Specifications, build and review code, and prepare Unit Test Cases.
• Conduct technical research to find optimal solutions.
• Modify ABAP code for BDC, interface programs, reports, and module pools arising from non-discretionary services.
• Optimize custom-developed programs to minimize resource utilization and run times.
• Develop and update Technical Documentation with respect to functional requirements and specifications.
• Test specific objects during initiatives such as migration to higher versions, hot packs, and version upgrades.
• Maintain appropriate documentation for knowledge management and provide bug fixes within agreed time frames and quality standards.
• Assist with queries related to reports, interfaces, enhancements, ALE/IDoc, conversions, forms, Adobe forms, ABAP workflow, and Webdynpro.
• Propose ABAP redesigns for performance improvement and tuning of ABAP objects.
• Assess SAP OSS notes for relevance to ABAP operations.
  
  

Must-Have Skills

• Must have 3-6 years of experience with at least one project involving Implementation, Upgrade, Rollout, or AMS.
• Should have excellent technical skills in Reports, Forms, Interfaces, Conversions, and Enhancements.
• Should have knowledge or experience in niche skills such as ODATA, Workflow, Adobe Forms, Fiori, HANA checks/HANA Migration.
• Should have proficient in Object-Oriented (OO) concepts of SAP ABAP.
• Should have excellent knowledge of ABAP Debugging, SAP Code Inspector, and other SAP standard development tools.
• Should have knowledge of architectural design patterns, performance tuning, and database and functional designs.
• Should have hands-on experience with Service-Oriented Architecture.
• Should have ability to lead solution development and delivery for design solutions.
• Should have experience in designing high-level and low-level documents is a plus.
• Should have a good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Should have experience in ABAP objects, classes, events, methods, user exits, BADIs, forms, Adobe Forms, ALE/IDOCs, and performance tuning.
• Should have exposure to ABAP on BTP, Fiori developments, and developments in S/4HANA.
• Should have familiarity with project management tools, SAP-BI, ABAP-HR, and SAP PI is preferable.
• Should have experience in custom app development using UI5, JavaScript, jQuery, and MVC frameworks on SAP Web IDE.
• Should be proficient in ABAP, including ABAP object-oriented programming concepts.
• Should be effective in executing multiple tasks and assignments ahead of schedule and under budget.
• Should have preferable knowledge of development skills involving ABAP/4 Reports, ABAP Objects, OO ALV, Data Migrations BDC, LSMW, Smart Forms, SAP Scripts, Function Modules, ABAP Query, Dialog Programming, User Exits, Screen Painter, Menu Painter, Data Dictionary, and Enhancements, BADIs, BAPIs, Class Builder, Roles Authorization, and Security User Administration.
• Should have good knowledge of creating database tables, secondary indexes, table maintenance generator, views, structures, data elements, domains, and search helps.
