Overview
The SAP ABAP Consultant plays a crucial role in the design, implementation, and customization of SAP applications using the ABAP programming language. This role is vital to ensuring the efficient functioning of SAP systems and the seamless integration with business processes, making it a key element in driving organizational success through technology solutions.
Key responsibilities
Develop custom applications using ABAP, CDS, and RAP.
Create and maintain CDS views and OData services for integration.
Implement RAP for transactional applications on S/4HANA.
Debug, optimize ABAP programs, and collaborate with stakeholders for requirement gathering.
- Proficiency in ABAP, CDS, OData, and RAP.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Develop and maintain various SAP applications, reports, interfaces, conversions, and enhancements using ABAP programming language.
- Customize and configure SAP applications to align with business processes and requirements.
- Perform debugging and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues within SAP systems.
- Conduct unit testing and integration testing to ensure the quality and integrity of the developed solutions.
- Provide technical support and maintenance for existing SAP applications and interfaces.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of SAP applications.
- Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Document technical specifications, process flows, and system configurations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in SAP ABAP development and customization.
- Proficiency in programming with ABAP, including report programming, module pool programming, and forms development.
- Strong understanding of SAP modules such as FI/CO, SD, MM, and PP.
- Experience in SAP system integration, enhancement, and modification.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Knowledge of SAP development tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with stakeholders and team members.
- Relevant SAP certifications will be an advantage.
