General Purpose & Objectives:
Responsible for developing and administering policies, programs, training, and assessments related to sanitation
and cleaning practices targeted at eliminating microbiological issues and complying with company and
regulatory requirements.
Ensure continuity of all sanitation programs across all production facilities in Asia Pacific and drive for
improved performance.
Provide technical support and guidance to plant quality assurance staff and company management, as needed,
on all issues related to sanitation, allergen control, and GMP's.
Major Tasks & Activities
Develop, implement, and monitor AP zone wide sanitation programs, policies and practices related to
microbiological principles. Engage plant quality and operational staff to ensure successful program adoption.
Maintain standards and ensure they are updated to reflect changing requirements.
Collaborate with plant quality assurance staff on the validation of all sanitation processes according to current
regulations and OSI policies. Review assessment results and validate conclusions made regarding the likely
occurrence of food safety hazards.
Analyze and monitor key metrics across plants on a routine basis; take appropriate action when trends or results
fail to meet specified expectations. Provide on-going executive summary with sanitation performance data and
analysis of trends to management. Recommend sanitation metric goals.
Design and conduct a variety of sanitation policy, practice, and design audits; identifying areas for sanitation
quality improvements based on audit results by working with Engineering in the design and purchasing phases
of new equipment to minimize sanitary design flaws; follow up on corrective actions to ensure completion.
Key point of contact for troubleshooting sanitation related challenges including environmental monitoring.
Participate as technical subject matter expert during Food Safety Assessments, when responding to Regulatory
non-compliances, when evaluating sanitation vendors, during third-party audits of sanitation practices, during
critical food safety incident investigation to identify root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions, or
when various other third parties inspect or visit the facility to review sanitation practices.
Provide research, guidance and technical support to internal and external customers on the use of sanitation
practices to solve cleaning and microbiological issues or meet customer specific requirements to secure
business opportunity (such as new process sanitation protocol development & implementation, high risk
process intervention, sanitation allergen controls, etc.); includes participation in the food safety emergency
response program or other teams as directed.
As needed, conduct sanitation training, and provide both on-site and remote consultancy for Asia Pacific plants
to resolve challenges / answer questions / provide solutions.
Develop and maintain relationships with sanitation contract services, sanitation chemical and equipment
suppliers, and others in the industry to maintain the latest and most current information on the state of food
safety, industry direction and food sanitation issues that affect the operations of the Company.
Review and assess the performance results as well as coach and enhance the capability of Certified SME at each
Asia Pacific plant to grow them both personally and professionally.
Collaborate with the Global Director of Sanitation and sanitation counterparts in other Asia Pacific business
units or globally.

Quality Requirement:
College degree in one the relevant fields of Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering.
Seven (7+) or more years of extensive management of sanitation programs in a food processing environment. Prefer
candidates with a minimum of two (2) years at the corporate sanitation level.
High degree of functional competency and technical understanding in sanitation practices, food processing
equipment sanitary design and sanitation chemistry.
Professional Certification on sanitation basic and hygiene design.
Working knowledge of the functionality of sanitation cleaning/sanitizing standards and system (7 steps of sanitation
execution, equipment sanitary design guidance, water and utility requirements, etc.), plant sanitation program
elements (SSOP, MSS, PEC, PIC, etc.), as well as other sanitation tools used for daily execution of CIP (Clean in
Place) and COP (Clean out of Place).
Experience in the use of sanitation intervention treatments on a wide variety of equipment.
Comfortable with wet and cold working environment and working in sanitation shift hours.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing via English and Chinese.
Possess good interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills with an analytical, detailed & result oriented
mind.
Need to be able to work independently and demonstrate leadership skills with the ability to influence others where no
direct line of authority exists.
Must be able to travel a minimum of 50% (up to 70%) within or outside India.
Must be able to work on flexible shift hours for troubleshooting, coaching and assessments when the need arises or
requested for initiation of new projects or new process.
