Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager specializing in investment products to lead our sales team. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in sales within the financial sector, specifically promoting and selling investment products such as mutual funds, stocks, bonds, retirement plans, Fixed deposits and other financial instruments. The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing sales plans, and managing a team to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales Strategy and Target Achievement:

Develop and execute sales plans to achieve revenue targets for investment products.

Set ambitious but achievable sales targets for the team and monitor performance against these objectives.
  • Team Leadership and Development:

Recruit, train, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Provide guidance, coaching, and motivation to maximize the team's productivity and performance.
  • Client Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, understanding their investment needs and offering suitable products.

Maintain relationship with Business correspondents, corporate business correspondents, Investment advisors, Investment councillors etc.

Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective sales materials and strategies that resonate with clients.

Collaborate and maintain relationship with other financial institutions like banks, NBFCs, co-operative societies etc.
  • Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification:

Stay updated on market trends, competitor offerings, and industry changes to identify new opportunities and tailor sales approaches accordingly.

Conduct market research to understand customer needs and preferences, and use this information to drive sales Plans.
  • Product Knowledge and Training:

Possess an in-depth understanding of investment products offered by the company and ensure the sales team is well-versed in product features, benefits, and market positioning.

Conduct regular training sessions to update the team on new products and industry developments.
  • Field Responsibilities:

Visit key players on the field, help sales teams in closing the deals.
  • Sales Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis for senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities.

Use data-driven insights to adjust sales strategies and improve team performance.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

Ensure that all sales activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.

Guide the sales team in maintaining compliance in client interactions and sales processes.
  • Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field. An MBA or relevant Master's degree is a plus.

Must have been worked with Business correspondents, corporate business correspondents, Investment advisors, Investment councillors other distribution channels.

Proven track record in sales management within the financial services industry, preferably in promoting investment products.

Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

Excellent sales acumen and ability to close deals effectively.

Sound knowledge of investment products, financial markets, and regulatory requirements.

Ability to motivate and inspire a sales team toward achieving and exceeding targets.

The Sales Manager (Investment Products) will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth and market penetration for our investment product offerings. They will lead a dynamic sales team, execute effective sales strategies, and drive revenue through client acquisition and retention.
