Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Sales Manager Material Handling Equipment (MHE) / Cranes

Department: Sales & Marketing

Job Summary: The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales and ensuring maximum equipment deployment in the MHE and Crane sector. This role involves developing effective sales strategies, managing customer relationships, and leading a team of sales representatives. A focus on meeting targets, analyzing market trends, and fostering a collaborative environment with other departments is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy Development: Formulate and implement robust sales strategies to meet or exceed targets. Ensure optimal equipment deployment by preparing offers in line with approved costing, managing negotiations, and securing orders.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the sales team, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to enhance individual and team success.
  • Market Analysis: Stay current on market trends, customer needs, and competitors to identify new opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Prepare accurate forecasts, analyze sales metrics, and adjust plans to achieve targets.
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients at all levels, resolving issues promptly. Ensure timely recovery of outstanding payments within the agreed credit period.
  • Sales Process Management: Oversee the complete sales process, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring the effective use of CRM systems and sales tools.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Align sales efforts with company objectives by working closely with other departments.
  • Budget Management: Manage the sales budget effectively, controlling expenses and allocating resources to meet goals.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate business opportunities through market research and competitive analysis.
  • Manage the sales cycle for equipment rentals, establishing strong client relationships, and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market competitiveness, and upcoming projects.
  • Prepare and submit offers, negotiate with clients, and follow up on inquiries and tender submissions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site visits, and application studies to tailor offers to client needs.
  • Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to manage site-wise follow-ups and address customer complaints.
  • Support marketing efforts through online content creation, email campaigns, and trade show participation.
  • Ensure the timely follow-up of online and WhatsApp inquiries, adding prospective clients to the CRM and mailing lists.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Civil) or Business/Marketing. MBA or relevant certification in the MHE/Crane industry is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in sales, with proven success in a management role, particularly within the MHE/Crane rental business.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Proficiency in CRM and sales software.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
